What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Consider yourself lucky....my local car shower smell like balsamic vinegar and cheez wiz.....or my Mother in law.....same difference..
That multicolored stuff smells like a mixture of the old "grape" and "cherry" safety lollipops they handed out at the doctor

2 flavors that have haunted me to this day and keep me from liking anything grape or cherry "flavored" (code for a butt load of probably toxic chemicals)

This is as close to detailing as I am going to get today

The space between the 2 cars is filled with boxes and totes of 47 years worth of Christmases that the boss swore she was going to go through and donate 75% of

Yeah, ok...

Can't very well be slinging RW around momma's stuff
Well thats one way to get rid of the stuff

Christmas seems to have come a little early if you're looking for a Ego. It seems they're suddenly on a great discount at local stores like Ace or Lowe's. Ace had a gift card promo as well so I grabbed the Ego 765 for $230 (with the 5.0 battery)... and to top it off I used the gift card promo for an extra $40 off. That feels like a really good deal from what I can tell.

That's as much detailing related activity as I'll get until after Christmas for now but I'm eagerly awaiting a chance to use it.

Wash time for the FJ today, and a bit of a sanity wash for me, I waited till late in the afternoon, so it was cooler. Went with a 2B wash with Reset, used the leftovers from the Qashqai wash the other day. Did the wheels with Wheely Clean, lots of purple rinse off. Dried using my new spray wax, Nextzett Raindance Perlglanz. It works very similar to TWHS Wet Wax, even has a similar scent, but not as strong. I'll have to experiment with different MFs, it was a little bit more streaky. As I was finishing up it was dark enough for the sensor lights to start coming on.

Thanks Roger, I forgot to mention that the 303 Graphene Trim Coating is holding up well, not bad for something I got on clearance.
Maybe send 303 an email and pics, I'm sure they'd love to hear from you!

Washed the Qashqai today, it was caught in a dirty 10 minute shower last week.

Foamed with some Eclipse Hyper Foam, probably the cheapest foam on the market over here. Used a basic garden hose foam gun, I didn't want any dwell time as there's not much cloud cover today.

First rinse removed most of the visible dirt
View attachment 137344

Moved it back inside for a 2B wash with Reset, then back out for another rinse, and back in to dry it with TWHS Wet Wax, including in the door jambs and fuel cap.

Even though foaming appeared to remove most of the dirt, rinse bucket shows otherwise, but still not to bad.

Why I never will just foam rinse and dry. Looks clean but never really is

We have a place here called Mac Bid. They auction off items from A to Z that are returns from places like Amazon and Lowes. Just this week I picked up an Ego 615 blower which is a brand new returned item. For some reason they offer a ton of Ego items.

One has to be careful as you could get a defective item, which I have a time or two but one can go to the Mac Bid facility and inspect and even ops check any item before the auction.
Anyway I got the 615 blower for $84.00 ( including the fees) which had the 2.5 battery and in a separate auction I got a 5.0 battery for $44.00.
I already had a corded blower but I sometimes use that for chopping and picking up leaves so I was always leary about spraying my paint with something that was used with shredded lawn debris. Won't have to worry about that now.

Here is my collection of pump sprayers. All but one were acquired at MAC Bid. All were new unused. The one IK foamer I paid full price at Amazon as I became impatient waiting for an IK foamer on Mac Bid. All I paid less than $20.00 for each

. The IK multi Pro I won for $3.00.

Three of them hold different rinseless washes as I don’t have to empty after using. One I use with just water for doing wheels and tires when I don’t want to get out the hose just for that. The other two are foamers. Also have the new version of the IK foamer 2 which I also got at Mac Bid.

I hear you. I started thinking about random outdoor household task that would be better with a blower but...I don't use my good microfiber in the kitchen so not sure I'll do anything other than dry my vehicles with the Ego.

You got some good deals!

On a coated car with a day or two worth of dust only I've never had a problem

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

Yeah still I wouldn’t feel 100 it removed all dust (all sorts of $h!t in there). Not saying your wrong but what’s in your dust is not same as what’s in PNW dust. I wouldn’t chance the marring.

Maybe with BH twins but still a no for me…. Here.

Had an hour to kill before walking over to pick up my daughter from school, so I went into "time management mode"...RW time

Today I chose Gyeon Q2 ECO wash, mainly because I hadn't used it in a while and also a knat was asking about it's dirt release compared to another product or two, so if this knat hadn't put me on ignore, he'll see this, if not, just swat him away...he'll go away

The first pic is BEFORE and second is AFTER. As you can see it did pull up dirt, mainly from the black sections on the bottom, still cleans great, atleast on my ride

The ease of drying, even on 42-39 degree late afternoon day, was effortless and the GLOSS & SLICKNESS...off the charts

I finished up by spraying the tires, wheels and wheelwells, just wiping down the sidewalls and wheel faces with 2 designated mf towels to finish things up

I'll be making my first trip to the Bays in Wheeling this Sunday, it'll need a wash as we're supposed to get "a little" snow tomorrow/into Thursday but probably nothing significant. That wash will have me trying about FOUR new products...stay "tuned

I finished the rear section of the Auburn. The 18 year old restoration is in fantastic shape. Kudos to the painter. It took 7 years for the paint to be completed. No cracks or lifting anywhere!
7 years! That painter is maybe a worse procrastinator than I am...maybe.
