What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

This belongs to the 18 year old I sold my G13 to two weeks ago. He’s also starting his detailing business and wanted to learn how to do ceramic coatings so today I gave him a crash course in paint correction and ceramic coatings. Six hours of work and here is the finished product.
He’s now the only 18 year old in his town driving g a $40K ceramic coated truck.

So after an eternity...and back it seemed, today was the day for the TAOS. After reading all this Labocosmetica dilution ratios, I decided to try 1.5 oz of Bilt-Hamber Touchless in my Mirolex 1000 as a pre-treat, had enough to do the entire car...perfect

I've got a thread about ADS Ghost and it's durability. Today was the first day I pre-treated the tires because it was salty AF, the car too

Tomorrow the EN goes into the Bays Wheeling for the World Tour of Kleen

Got time to wash the salt off all the cars today. I had to pick up some stuff from my father in law's place so I did my wife's Telluride first. Topped it off with Wolfgangs Gloss Spray Sealant.

I topped mine off with Polymer Netshield....it is the first time I've used it and it provides good gloss but it was a pain to remove in some spots. I will stick to my Polish Angel Cosmic lol 20250222_200317.jpg20250222_200306.jpg20250222_200603.jpg20250222_134638.jpg20250222_134631.jpg20250222_163517.jpg

I needed to do something, it was the Qashqai wheels and tyres or nothing, the weather is so good here at the moment nothing else needed doing, sorry to boast. I decided to go with TWHS Ceramic 3 in 1 Detailer, I forgot it's also a waterless wash. Front wheels are the worst of course, and the passenger side tyres had no dressing left at all, so I went with Carpro Perl again.

Rear drivers, I hate how the passenger side tyres look they've had the sidewalls sanded down.PSX_20250223_160224.jpg

Bad ass truck! Good luck to him, I’m sure he’s going to do well for himself.

Had a chance to keep the Tacoma clean for a few days so i gave it a wash and seeing as the sun was out and it was above freezing i did it outside.
Used Optimum Hyper Foam on the paint and glass. Used Road Warrior on the wheels and tires. Dressed the tires with Aqua Gloss and dressed the wheels with my hybrid Optimum detailer.
Afterwards i pulled it in the garage a put some wax on it with Optimum Car Wax.

I had to wipe some bird crap off the hood tonight, dropped some time today, but it was on the plastidip so no damage done. Then I noticed the glass was a bit dirty, so I thought I'd give Clarify Phobic a go, and it was a bit of a pain, maybe because the humidity is high, 80%+. But I think maybe it's best used when the glass is wet, like as a drying aid/glass cleaner. Next time I'll wet the glass first. The other thing I did, but after I took the picture, was pluck the rocks from the tyre treads, the downside of chunky tread blocks.

I like the look of the alloys, and how easy they are to clean, so much easier to clean, but I liked the "fatter" look of the other tyres. I'm completely over the black wheel look, especially now that probably half the new cars on the road are going with black wheels.

I still plan on painting the black ones, when the temps and humidity drop a bit. If it doesn't work out I'll only be down $130 in materials, and a few hours of time.

The underbody didn't get any attention yesterday but that's because the touch-free wash takes care of that duty...mission accomplished this morning before work, side benefit is that "lane wetting thaw" that I couldn't avoid yesterday is washed off, flawless finish once again

Klasse,
I hope you got a unlimited washes package at that touchless wash.
Otherwise i think you are making the payments on their new boat.

Yep, $30 a month and I can wash once a day

After a grueling ceramic coating job Saturday this customer contacted me at 10 the same night. It’s a 2004 4Runner that will soon belong to his teenage son and he dropped it off for a deep clean and headlight restoration. No polishing after claying because much of the paint it at the point of clear coat failure. It was just a little dirty but I think it looks a little better now. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the amount of dirt that came off of this vehicle now requires me to pressure wash my driveway.

Great job on those headlights and clean-up

Did a rinseless wash with Hero. Worked great.

Cleaned the tires with ADS Tire Cleaner and the wheels with ADS Wheel Cleaner. I'm really loving those two. They're the best I've ever used. I was using Gyeon. The ADS are far, far better. More effective, less product used.
