What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Inside Job is pretty thick, I'd think scratching piano black interior bits wouldn't be an issue

To take it further, I despise the piano black inside and out but I feel like anyone who finds a half decent MF towel and uses the right dedicated chemicals, it scratches far less?

I've never perfected polishing piano black and just assumed in time it would get worse. I have to admit, it's in better condition than I expected from simply doing the above.

Did a rinseless wash on the CRV with Absolute. Cleaned the wheels and tires with Road Warrior and my IK Foam Pro 2.

Applied Aqua Gloss to the tires and my hybrid Optimum drying aid to the wheels. Afterwards pulled it in the garage and finished off a bottle of Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax on it.

Tried the Reflect on my wife’s suv inside car windows but just on the back doors. Want to see how it effects fogging/vision before I commit further.

Wash day for the Qashqai today, nice and overcast, so I could do the whole wash outside before moving it inside for drying. First up was Bowden's Wheely Clean on the wheels, plenty of bleed off on the fronts. Went with a 2B Reset wash for the paint. I got a reminder in my calendar that it's been 6 months since I put Dodo Juice Blue Velvet on it, so I decided to add some more gloss and protection. Went with NV Jet layered on top of Lustre. Finished off with Garage Therapy One Glass on the windows. I do need to put something on the tyres, I'll probably go with Perl, either tonight or tomorrow.

Placed an order but when I added the discount code I lost free shipping. Picked up a couple other items for a detailing job on my oldest daughters Escape coming up in May

***EDIT***

I lost free shipping because with the discount I was $12.00 under the $125.00 amount, oh well

Ran the EN through the touch-free wash this morning before work to get rid of that "white stuff" from Sunday, mind you it was 81 degrees on Friday

First rainy commute after applying the Griot's ceramic glass coating. It worked very well. I think performance was better than their other products. The beads of water from last night's rain started clearing before I was up to 30 mph. Light rain/mist on the drive. No need to use the wipers with the rain. Could still see ok with the mist but that didn't really start to clear itself below 50-ish since the beads were very small.

I'd recommend this but you would need to evaluate if you want to spend a little more for a legit high solids coating, which this is not. I may just use their regular glass sealant on my other windows since I have a good amount of that still.

Got my summer wheels coated. Finished up the bottle of Gyeon Rim Evo with just enough to get a second coat on the faces. It's a lot easier prepping brand new wheels than used ones. :ROFLMAO: However, it's a lot easier having tires installed so you don't have to worry as much.

No! Always got to buy that one extra item vs put money into these transport companies.

Solid order none the less.

Well, the transport company is getting the money anyway, regardless of who is paying for the shipping. But the point is he paid $9 shipping, so he could have added a $12 item and effectively gotten it for $3.

I booked my 3 hrs at The Bays Wheeling for next Friday, March 28th, almost the end of the month...use em' or lose em' (with the package I've got)

So I'm already thinking it's going to be the Labocosmetica 3pH 2BM wash...but which topper

I planned on using ADS Phobic as a "booster" coming out of winter and again before I go to the Drsgon in the fall but here's the thing, I applied Nv Jet on there last month, it's been through numerous touch-free washes and a couple RW's. I'm sure Nv Jet is still good but I bought Feynlab Ceramic Spray Detailer a week ago and wanna try it, I mean I'd be "topping a topper", creating a stack, etc

I feel it's a little early for Phobic, plus the temps next week, not all that great...thoughts my peers

The thing that worries me about stacking is that products from different lines may not play well together, so you don't get to see their true abilities. If you see good properties, which one is it from, if it's bad, is the new product the bad one, or is it the combination.

So maybe just do it on the trunk or the hood, then wait to see the results.

I guess this could be considered detailing. My back up camera quit working on the Tacoma. So in the course of trouble shooting that issue i removed the inside cover of the tailgate.

When i removed the cover i saw there was surface rust near the bottom ( inside portion) of the tail gate. The Tacoma sits outside and i guess a little water gets between the plastic tailgate cover and the tailgate and most likely stays wet for a while. With the cover in place this area cant be seen and i was unaware that it started to rust. So I removed the tailgate and took care of the problem.

I sanded the rusty areas down to bare metal. Then treated the bare metal with phosphoric acid. Then primered and painted those areas.

I reinstalled the tailgate but left the inside cover off. Ill let the paint cure for a few days and before i reinstall the cover ill treat those areas that i painted with Fluid Film. I have to install the new back up camera anyway which i have ordered and it is on its way to me which requires the cover to be off for installation.
