What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

For anyone who has used Gyeon CanCoat, what is the shelf life of the product after it's been opened? I have a 3/4 full bottle that was opened last February but has sat since, cap firmly on. Due to the bottle not being clear, you can't really inspect for "floaties".

I bought mine a year ago and it’s still liquid and seems good.

I like a good comparison, so.......................

Invisible Glass (19-oz Aerosol) - $11.95 AUD to $14.00 AUD ($6.99 USD)
Invisible Glass (32-oz/946ml) - $18.95 AUD to $19.99 AUD ($7.99 USD)

Detail Co. Glass Cleaner (16-oz Aerosol) - $29.99 AUD ($11.99 USD)

So, what did we learn here? First, the Detail Co. stuff is at least twice the price over the Stoner aerosol, be that in AUD or USD, and that's for 16oz vs 19-oz for the Stoner. Second, we get raped in this country.
YES we do with no lube us Aussie's just have to bend over and take it...

ONR wash for the FJ today, I haven't used it for a while so I thought I'd refresh my memory. I used a few MFs as the FJ still wasn't that dirty, and one of my new small twisted loop towels for the final dry, I didn't even need to use any glass cleaner afterwards. It was so easy, I guess it helps having NV Jet on there

I also gave the wipers a treatment, I noticed a bit of chattering the last time i had to use them. Cleaned the rubber with 303 Aerospace Protectant, then smeared some graphite powder on them.

Dave if you need something for the plastic in the future I would suggest Koch Chemie PSS. From Waxit

My can is about 29 months old. I looked a couple of months ago and it was still good.

So this was an unexpected clean-up today, first the back story. This KN is owned by a fellow Discord/N Midwest member who had the infamous knock sensor code (1326) come up on his car last week, so he took it in...but, he had a tuned ECU and they didn't wanna work on an "alien ecu" as he actually told them about it, upfront. So he took the car back, had the stock ecu swapped back in and they performed the TSB for the knock sensor

So it was ready today but he was in Wisconsin running the drag strip in his "toy" and planned on getting it tomorrow, Sunday, problem is...they're not open Sunday I had nothing going on today so I told him I'd pick it up for him if they were OK with it, they were, so I did just that!

Upon pick up the car "looked" clean but wasn't, so I told him to pick it up from my place but I just had to do a RW on it

Seeing water spots/dirt on the top surfaces I knew exactly what my combo would be, Labocosmetica Preludio alkaline and Labocosmetica Idrosave, not to mention Turtle Wax Rapid Decon for those WHITE O.Z. wheels...let's do this

The results speak for themselves, top sides received the Preludio alkaline pre-wash, then Idrosave sprayed on top and then cleaned, the rest of the KN just Idrosave which was fine, on an overcast, 50 degree day the product just performed flawlessly, not sure how a popular YouTuber completely dismissed this and "poured it down the drain", his exact words, but I digress, infact it dried, without streaking, using a dump mf drying towel used on my own car earlier today

I then used Turtle Wax Rapid Decon, 2 rounds, on those WHITE O.Z. rims, then sprayed them down with leftover Idrosave and dunked a designated RW sponge into the leftover RW to clean the wheels & tires the best I could, especially not using a hose and/or tools, I think they came out just fine

Later I finished up applying some Hydrosilex tire dressing mixed with something on the tires and also had polished under the door handles, just bugged the hell out of me

He was very thankful for all the work I did, that was good enough for me because when this all happened last week, after leaving a carwash, he wanted to just dump his KN (sound familar) and he was really down, so doing all this today was just the right thing to do to make someone's life just THAT much better, easy

The first 4 pics show the wheel progress, the 5th Pic is the KN before I started and the rest were AFTER the Labocosmetica duo at work, thanks for reading/looking, I appreciate it

Nice job, I love those wheels, they were a common choice for any hatchback I had in any of the Gran Turismo games.

Rinseless washes for the SUV's.

Also photo bombing the picture "not detail related", I fired up my new pellet grill for the first time. I've never used anything other than a gas grill, so something new to learn (been on my list for a while). I plan to try it out tomorrow with chicken and/or ribs.

This is what I see for above post.
Is it upside down for anyone else.

Nice little Rally Nugget love those wheels. 🤌

A bit of prep and some side-by-side evaluation to see what post-wash ‘frosting’ I’ll be using this Summer. Cosmic 2.0 came out last Fall, used it a bit & Overcoat 6.0 dropped this Winter so not too much time with it since weather broke.

May as well do 1/2 the hood with each and watch it from behind the wheel as it exists in the world for the next month or two.

Decon, polish, a base of ‘ceramic-lite’ and then on to the two contenders.

Did the CRV today. Foamed it with Dark Fury and let that dwell then rinsed it off. Foamed it again with a combo of Dark Fury and Cherry Foam then did a contact wash.

Used a clay towel on it and afterwards did another contact wash with Dark Fury and Cherry Foam then blew most of the water off with my Ego.

Then i pulled it in the garage and finished drying it with a PFM towel. Polished it with Sonax Perfect Finish.

After polishing i wiped the whole thing down with panel prep. Then i sealed it with Jescar Powerlock. Used SealNShine on the wheels and Aqua Gloss on the tires.

At next wash ill top the sealer with some spray wax.
