What did you do today non-detailing related?

Looks fantastic! Reminds me of Sardis in NYC except with all Cadillac ads!

Thanks bud! I appreciate it especially coming from a fellow Cadillac person.

That's cool, Eldo, I especially like the way you handled the two-page one.

Nice! I thought of that 1 last actually. It’s 1 of the only centerfolds I have that’s already been cut in half. I really like the way it turned out in 2 frames but I’m not so sure I’m willing to cut any of the other ones in half.lol.

But I did find some frames that are the perfect size to hold the centerfolds. However I’m not sure if I have enough space left on the walls. Lol.

I looked to see if I had any old Caddy brochures after we talked about that in another thread, but found that my old car brochures are not as well organized as I thought they were, so that will have to wait for another day.

Found this in my local Kmart, too cool not to add to my collection.

Nice. You collect those? Like how many do you have? Do you open them or is it a better thrill to keep them new never opened?

Wait a minute, you have Kmart in Australia? We don't have any KMarts here in the US anymore, how do you have them there where I never even knew there were any?

I used to collect 1:18 scale diecast cars until I ran out of room. I think I have about 120.

I think I'm nearing 2400, if they're standard like this, I'll open them for easy storage, this one will go in my Cadillac draw, if they're part of a set, I keep them sealed. It's almost like an addiction now.

I completely know what you mean. It’s great stuff, especially because it’s car related.

I'm pretty sure our Kmart is a different company to yours, the big company that owns them also owns our Target brand, and Bunnings, which is our version of Home Depot.

So those are the bigger ones, right? I once thought it would be neat to buy one or some of those, but knowing me and how I love to collect things in sets and seeing the prices those ebay auctions would sometimes draw I made the decision to not get involved. Rich mans game. Lol.

They are a bit bigger. I got the majority of mine for $10 to $15 a piece at the time from BJs Wholesale Club. Of course now they're more expensive. I only splurged on special interest cars.

I've heard of having a garage for your car collection...but not needing a garage for your Hotwheel car collection, lol

This stupid video…. [I say that jokingly]
This is the video that got me so excited 1 day that I felt like buying something..

[turns out this man is actually the owner of the detailing product company that makes Brown Royal wheel cleaner] I love that wheel cleaner.

1978 Cadillac Seville - YouTube

I somehow wound up buying this brochure for the same year, 1978 Cadillac Seville. I thought it was super cool how people actually sold NOS of something like this. That was enough to get me instantly hooked…

Within that 1st week I had ordered like 9-10 more brochures and they were from the 70’s & 80’s and still brand new. I loved it.
About 500 brochures and way more money than I should’ve spent… 1 day I realized I could’ve bought a Cadillac, a nice 1 too! Damn.lol.
That’s when I stopped.

I looked it up, it was originally a joint venture between our Kmart and an Australian company (1968), but the US company sold its interest in 1994. Apparently we still have 2 Kmarts here in the US (it was 3 until a couple of weeks ago).

I have a few of these as well, over here they are between $30 and $50 generally. Also only ones of special interest to me. My favourite is one of my FJ Cruiser of course.

$30 to $50 now sounds right. I guess I’m glad I ran out of room!

Eldo, I had a friend that was going to buy a Seville like that...or a boat. I told him to buy the Seville, he bought the boat. He probably used the boat a half dozen times, and spent tons of money docking it, winterizing it, etc. He should have listened to me. Those were cool cars.

That’s great. Sounds like how I came up on my ads and alot of my brochures. I was constantly on Ebay like a hawk just waiting for new listings to appear and loved scooping up rare stuff especially for great deals. It’s a thrill. Lol

I’m away from home right now , so no pics but I’ll try to post some soon. Of course, Cadillacs! I have from the 40s and50s plus a1:24 scale Franklin Mint Al Capone ‘30 limo. I’d love to get more but I really have no room and they’re more expensive now
