What did you do today non-detailing related?

So my schedule but more importantly my buddy Hectour's schedule finally lined up, as well as nice weather, so he could install my SXTH Element catch can on the ES. These D.I. engines need help to keep them clean on the INSIDE, so I bought the best one I could, now I have 2 of their products under my hood. I subscribe to the theme of "quality doesn't cost, it pays"

Re: Installed some Conti DWS06's on the RedSport

Cut the grass Sunday. LOL. Hopefully for the last time this year. Never lived in a place where the grass grew like mad. Needed cut every weekend. If that was part time job I would be rich.

Younger son got his SAT test result. This is his second SAT test. He improved 220 points from his last year's SAT test score. He scored 1340 (670 Reading and Writing and 670 Math). 1340 is 90th percentile.

He is a junior this year, we'll have him take the test again in Spring and Fall of 2020.

We are happy with his improvement.

Had my coil cover and engine plenum hydro dipped. Pick them up the other day

Getting my winter tire/wheels put on right now, temps pretty cold next week and all that matters now are the morning/evening temps, surely going to be 45 or below, it's that time already

Yup, just talking about this as well. probably waiting till next weekend or the following.
Not super cold here yet... we keep getting these 65 degree days sneaking in.

Detail Kitty, Klasse Act was telling me you had the 4C and I was actually considering buying one until last Sunday....I'm too freakin tall. My list of 2 door cars keeps getting shorter and shorter.

It’s not a tall man’s car for sure.
Seems to be the perfect size for my husband and he’s 5’5".

There are some tall guys in his club... not sure about helmets though.

Not sure what Audi I'm looking at but that looks like a stock intercooler.
What engine is it and what FMIC did you go with?

Nice looking car.

The car is an S5 Sportback. Yes, that’s the stock FMIC that you’re looking at...like a dummy I didn’t take a picture of the finished Intercooler, because hands sore and tired.

This car has a 3.0L twin scroll single turbo. Stock is good for about 350hp. I went with a kind of obscure named FMIC, made by a company named Rev9. It’s much taller...goes up to where the headlight comes to a point. I’m also running a JB4 piggy back tuner. I haven’t gotten it on a dyno yet but it’s added quite the boost to the car.

Thanks for the compliment on the car. I like it a lot...now just need some time to detail it.

So something like this pic.

Thats nutty man, the thing is huge.
Looks like it covers the whole face of the radiator and there isn't a problem with normal engine cooling?

Is the install pretty simple drop in, no cutting and trimming?

I bought a Wagner for my 08 535xi and could have got basically the same thing from china(amazon) for 300 less, oh well.
A little fabrication and trans cooler relocate for me.

I got lucky MHD came around when I bought mine and didn't have to do JB4. Simple flash and go. It does make these things quite a bit snappier.

That’s the one, it’s a beast. There are a bunch of guys who have it and it doesn’t seem to causing issues with normal cooling. Coolant and oil temps are staying about the same.

The install isn’t quite drop in and go. One of the brackets is a little short so I had to use a metal spacer and a longer bolt on one side. Also the stock intercooler is held in by clips, this big guy is attached to the underside of the crash bar.

The JB4 appeals to the tweaker in me. The gains for the price are pretty cool too. So far there’s only one tune available for my car and no real data on it yet. When the major players introduce tunes and they’ve been vetted, I’ll consider a flash tune.

Kinda sorta a car thing.

Decided about time I heat the garage.

Good deal on this 5000 watt from Rural Hing. Basically $100 to the door.
Just waiting on the wire, breaker and switch then I put on my electrician hat.

Ordered a cordless Polisher from Adams. Excited to try the cordless.

I want to get the small flex cordless set when it's ever available
