What did you do today non-detailing related?

Got my suspension check and got to take a good look at what the previous owner did.

He went to town with BMR sway bars, end links and trailing arms.

I have learned several thingss from YouTube. Some were as easy as it looked.

I learned to palstidip my car from YouTube. It was easier than this

You must be a small percentage, because I don’t think the majority can PlastiDip as good as Fonzie can. Lol.

My daughter was born :)

Props to Coatingsarecrack for the proper redirect!!

Sold my Golf R and picked up a 2018 Ford Edge Sport.
The R just didn't fit my needs at this time.

Plan to do some correcting on this beast in the spring.

Really like that color!

Thanks. It's definitely an eye catcher.
I guess I've transitioned from bland colors to more vibrant (red VW to this blue).

Equipment maintenance day.

Blades and an oil change for my main mower......

Replacement impeller housing for a Stihl blower........

I ran this particular machine as a vacuum which would have put extra strain on this part as debris cycled through it. The weight of the vac tube would not have helped.

After sitting for 6 months, I drained and refilled with fresh fuel and it fired right up. This will now be put back to vac duties.

I have been running all of my small 2-Strokes with Stihl HP Ultra oil. This is a fully synthetic oil that, while expensive, doesn't seem to block up exhaust screens like mineral oils do. It burns cleaner and doesn't seem to smoke as much. Smells very different to a normal 2-Stroke oil as well. The time it saves me from cleaning exhaust screens make the price well worth it.

Give the mower a clean and add tyre shine:D

Ps, I ran over my mum's sprinkler on the ride on through it 10m away:wowwow:
Put LED headlights on the mower so i can cut at night.

I may have detailed a mower here or there over the years...........

Can confirm Hyper Dressing works well here!

Headed out onto the lake to plow snow for the kids to have hockey rinks, also made paths out to big lake for the ice fisherman.
Took some pic's of Bosko's DogHouse, first time from the lake in almost 3 years due to the lake never really froze solid.

I used about 20 feet of the 50 foot hose from my Vacumaid Garage Vac Pro 50 so my detailing vacuum. Anyway, I bought a cheap paint brush and had some copper electrical wire that I used to create a “brush” with the drill that helped me scrub the pipe. I duct taped it to my vacuum hose and it worked fantastically. The first shot of the brush fit great but I had to hack it up with scissors to allow the lint to get vacuumed through the brush.

This one shows the brush I made with a drill. And also shows how dirty the siding was behind the cover.

And this is the view after I hacked up the brush some so the lint could get through to be vacuumed. And it is now taped to the vacuum hose.

Before, well you can tell the dryer vent pipe desperately needed cleaning.

After. You can actually see a little piece of a 2x4 that I ended up getting with another pass after I took this picture. No clue how that got there.

Finally bolted down my restored craftsman bench vice.

Spent 3 and half hours cutting the lawn by hand with a push mower because the bloody ride on has chucked it in.

Don't ask me how my neck and back feel....Please don't ask ;)

I spent 5.5 hours mowing non-stop today in horrible humidity. No ride on for me...........

That humidity has sent the grass crazy. The above is two weeks worth of growth, the edges done vertically and the taller material slashed down around the perimeter. This offers a smoother, neater edge. I also slashed a couple of sections to make it easier on the mower. I had to double-mow this lawn, as in cut on a high setting and going back over it on a lower height. This method is easier on the machine, helping to prevent chute blockages and and engine stall/bog. Even still, the poor thing worked HARD today.

I'm actually pretty beat up after today. Have I mentioned I HATE summer! :(

It's also one of the reasons I charge accordingly. I don't do walk ups, I don't charge beer Bob prices. It's hard work, work than people clearly don't want to do themselves.......the price reflects this!

I tip my hat to you DFB, is the mower self propelled with this rain i have mowed more this year than last. It's just dry grass usually and dusty but we are talking paddock grass not fancy city grass :D

We have had weekly storms with heavy rainfall, that and the humidity has the Kikuyu growing wild!

The mower is self-propelled with a 3 speed gearbox and a drive shaft rather than belt drive. I resisted self-propel for a long time due to their weight, could not do without now.......I'm not 21 anymore!

Meanwhile, why is it I have such an urge to go and polish out the swirls on the gloss black engine cover?
