What did you do today non-detailing related?

We went out to check on the new house today and realized I hadn’t posted these from 2 weeks ago following the storms with sustained 65 mph winds and gusts to 83 mph

It shattered the door frame and ripped the door and frame out on the front porch

It also ripped out several sheets of OSB that were tacked up to close off the garage

This week they got the garage doors in, the roof on, and all the sheet rock moved in and a lot of the ceiling rock hung

The power is on and the heaters are running, unfortunately the door was locked so I was only able to get outside shots and see the sheet rock through the windows

Holy cowl! Because of where you live you due to gov regulation?

Since our gov started stockpiling more some years back, it has hurt our prices and availability

Ammo comes in from other countries and then you have Covid19/War plus Tax etc...
The Government as far as i know don't get involved in prices of ammo.

You can't even buy powder at the moment unless you saw the covid19 and war boom coming and stock pile like my neighbour did.

Wow, I hadn't heard about that brand

Nice that it would work with my existing gear (mags, kydex, etc) because I have a LOT of stuff and would hate to have to reinvent the wheel

My 19 frame was extensively reworked by a smith in Texas (I am blanking on the name) and all the internals are updated and it is 100% reliable

But those SS pistols look sweet, I will look around locally and see if I can look at one

I honestly haven't been in a gun shop in years, I don't need the temptation

Nice rig Chilly, i find the 17 frame to fit my hands perfect but can get a little slippery.
My neighbour does have a conversation .22 kit to plink with to cut costs BUT is very very fussy on the ammo.

After cutting down the rear hump and slimming it down it feels and points much more like my beloved 1911s and Hi Powers

My older son had a .22 kit in one of his Glocks and it was very fussy

I bet that 29 is a snappy basstard eh? Lol

It's not that bad, actually. More snap than the 30 but the dual stage recoil spring helps keep it under control.

Got my slotted and dimpled rotors in a couple weeks ago and got my powder coated calipers in today….

Is there anything better than red Brembo calipers! :dblthumb2:

Today's project, getting these display frames back into shape.

These frames were constructed to grow Chinese Star Jasmine on, a great way of providing height without width. As they put on growth in spring and then flower in early summer, they lose their crisscross design. After flowering, they are pruned and trained back into shape.

This is a time-consuming job, one that takes patience, finesse and a good eye for detail. No hack jobs here! Sure, they have had a LOT of material removed, but within a month or so, these will flesh out again a touch while maintaining the same diamond pattern.

I love this sort of work, I had an audience a few times too.

We checked on the progress in the new house this weekend

The entire thing was sheet rocked and taped since we visited last

When they asked during planning if I wanted a hot/cold exterior hose bib I was expecting a single valve hose bib fed by warm water from a mixing valve, like a toilet

I wasn’t expecting this, in fact I didn’t know such a thing existed

I’m telling you, these irresponsible pet owners who let their dogs just roam the neighborhood are seriously pissing me off…

You should check to see if it has a collar. Then you could contact the owner...

Next time he runs through the yard, get under there and see if he's been neutered.......:cool::laughing:

Sorry, no can do...

I checked my medical insurance and I am not covered for self inflicted acts of stupidity
