Delivery equals too much snow maybe?

Sorry, poor attempt at humor

They were supposed to deliver last week and install this week

Obviously they are ahead of the game

They have been consistently ahead of the game throughout the process

The office lady who is supposed to give us weekly updates frequently tells us something WILL happen and when we go look, it already HAS happened

I’ll leave the humor to the pros

Good to hear from you Ron

Normally contractors are always behind and not ahead of the game. Consider yourself lucky. Hope your counter tops come in soon. Counter tops IMO makes or breaks the kitchen.

I like the light uppers and dark lowers.

The color scheme is all Donna

The granite is fabricated locally and the contractor always uses the same supplier so things should be on track

Some people say granite is old news and we should have gone another way but we honestly weren’t thrilled with any of the quartz/marble choices and absolutely loved one of the granite styles

We were just thinking of what we wanted and liked and don’t care about resale

Donna redid the kitchen and master bathroom in the old house a few years before we sold it to our son and between the granite she chose and the tile choices it came out really well

We aren’t letting the YouTube “DIY experts” dictate what we do based on what is trendy

Supposedly gray is over and done as well but the soft gray interior paint with the crisp white trim is really lovely

That's a bold move you're making. Don't you know the internet knows what your likes and tastes are/should be? That's not for you to figure out!

I replaced our countertops last year with quartz. Came out really nice after they got the big island piece right (long story)

Very nice

The boss designed this island and it will be a single 52” x 84” slab of granite with space for 4 counter height bar stools, 2 on each side

The center cabinets have access from either side

Yep, its custom dontcha know...

Going for that rustic "North woods cabin" look

Paid extra for that

Honestly, I was surprised that they don't lay the flooring first but they say it's because it is a floating flooring

We are going with LVP which is new to me but it’s what most builders and renovators are going with these days

We upgraded to commercial grade with the 20 mil wear layer because of the grand dogs visiting

Fingers crossed…

The boss will use area rugs in the bedroom and the living room

Thats what we put down in our entire house except for the bathroom due to any mosture/water from getting out the shower.

Yes we have area rugs in living and bedroom too.

One thing i will say is the joints are the only things you have to watch out for. If any water or animal throwup..anyliquid for that matter lays on the floor and its not cleaned up rather quickly...then it will get in the joints and soak in, and the affected area will start to "lift". As me how i know lol

OH! You mean like the time my "Boss" thought it would be a great idea to use one of those squirting "Swiffer" things in my kitchen??

:mad::mad:

Yeah, I was not all about putting it in the bathrooms but I got overruled

I’m going to be on it like white on rice if grandkids or whoever visits and is going to be bathing or showering

I’m already looking for waterproof bath mats too
