What did you do today non-detailing related?

I did a test paint on my spare steel wheel. I'm using DupliColor Metalcast Black Smoke Anodised. Because the wheels are black I had to lay down a silver base coat. After that dries you start layering the top coat till you achieve the desired shade. On something this size and shape it's hard to get an even coat. This is 4 coats, probably 1 too many I think, but the previous coat didn't look even enough. Practice makes perfect.

Definitely too dark, well maybe. But it's the spare PSX_20250429_143740.jpg

Yikes! That's way more than the payload of my little '23 Bronco, didn't know the Edge was that beefy!
I wouldn't say it's beefy, she was sagging quite bad. Pretty sure it was over payload limits, but don't tell anyone.
If it was more than just a few miles on city streets, I would have had them delivered or rented a truck, but I'm too cheap for that and it was a spur of the moment purchase.

Nice shot. I need to mow as well, but it's still too wet.
Thanks Dave that's the neighbours shed full of Tractors 🚜 his an older gentleman named David ex truck driver Aussie as but loves his toys.

He has a mint conditions Landcruiser and people are always asking him how much would you sell it for.

That shed would make a great place to work on car's and wash detail,

You would have to fix the lighting system and then get to it,

Dave in his late 70s but has the energy of a 30 year old due to his second hart.....I think he has a thing for my mum because he is a cheeky bugger.

Poor bugger rolled his ride on back in spring 2023 brake failure off a 3m
Verge lucky I was watching through the window and saw him pinned underneath and ran but just wasn't strong enough, to lift it off him.

Mum being a nurse she cleaned up the cut's and dad drove him to hospital, even though he didn't want to go we made him!

Lovely backdrop, I imagine its nice and peaceful?

And don't leave me hanging, what mowers do you run?
No not very peaceful, with the road so close and car's speeding day in day out. It's a valley and you can hear every cut off muffler and the hooning down the road when wet.

That's why I hate 70% of the people that live in the area 😒

Husqvarna ride on heap of junk nothing but trouble since we bought it
And a hand me down push mower.

Masport mower on the right was a giving to dad because the owner was going into a nursing home, sorry about the mess my dad likes to keep everything.
Best picture's i can do.

Cleaned the lawnmower components except for the wheels themselves.

Reassembled then treated the mower deck with Sta-bil ceramic pro-guard. It's spray on and let cure. No wiping or rinsing. It's still wet to the touch after a few hours. We'll see how it is after the 24 hr cure.

Plastics got hit with Motorplast.

I fixed my fold down armrests so I can use them again. I didn't really use them much before I fitted the seat covers, and I didn't want to put holes in the seat covers when I bought them. I vacuumed the seats while I had the covers off. The only difficulty was finding a thin 14mm socket amongst my 3 sets that would remove the bolt, thank you Sidchrome. We'll see how often they actually get used.
