What did you do today non-detailing related?

RANT TIME. 🤬

The Tasmanian government has brought in a 10 cents per plastic bottle for recycling ♻️.

24x500ml bottle water was $7 Now I'm paying $11 talk about a load of shit
I recycle ♻️ i do my bit but now, i have to collect and drive
Into town if i want to see anything back of my extra money spent.

They should keep the prices the same and use this to motivate people
to make a little pocket money without hurting the end consumer.

🤬 Government.
That price increase is a bit rude. We've had that 10c recycling thing in for a while, I don't bother with it. But we keep them and give them to my Nephew, originally it was pocket money for his boys, but now he's bought a house, it goes to upgrades and repairs for the house. I asked him what's the biggest pay out he ever got from it, $93 and change. I said dude that's 930+ cans and bottles, it took him about an hour to feed them all in. We even have people who drive around and go through people's bins on the morning the recycling truck picks up, just to see if anyone is throwing them out.

I've recently started doing the Container Deposit Scheme thing. The concept is simple, collect eligible containers, rock up to a collection point, scan your ID barcode and feed containers onto the conveyer belt. At the end, your total amount is direct deposited into your bank account.

However, 9 times out of 10, the machine that scans and deposits each container into the bin is broken or breaks while using it.

Rocked up today while an attendant was fixing a break down. I sat in my car until he finished, just as another customer arrived. By the time I got out of the car and grabbed my bundle of containers, both conveyers were broken again, literally 30-seconds after they were fixed. Got talking to the guy that arrived first, who was part way through his bag of containers before the machine broke down, like me he wondering if it was worth the effort. As in you spend more time messing about trying to actually make a deposit, often having to come back multiple times. Is it really worth the 10-cents per container? And that's before you consider the stink, basically rotten milk laced with stale beer.

I don't like the idea of people going through recycle bins, but within the Law if its on the nature strip it's legal, but on your own property it's illegal.

We do have a fair bit of people in Tassie that couldn't give a F and toss anything out and a lot of litter here in Tassie also.

Like Deyon said as soon as these machine break down the novelty will wear off.

I actually hope kids will go out and pick up can's and plastic bottles because when we were kid's we would get 20 cents on glass coke bottles, and then straight to the Milk Bar for 1 cent lollies....

I'm really showing my age now........

I tend to find Asics shoe's are hard on my heel and tend to blisters,
But i can only order on line because our shop's are piterful.
I wear the toe mesh out super fast, always have, but my bad knee and shine splints like them.

At one point, my neighbour was going through my bins collecting cans and containers for her grandson to cash in. At the time I was quite put off by someone going through my trash, so I just put them into a plastic bag and left it at her gate. It got to the point where I was like F this, I cash them in for myself, the kid can get a job like the rest of us.

Finished up another birdhouse

I had to do a factory reset on my garage TV, it went completely schizo, it would show tv randomly, jump in and out of menus, and half the buttons on the remote weren't functioning. About 15 attempts at entering the right menu and putting the security pin in before I got it to work. I really wanted to punch it right in screen though, but it did fix the problem.

Also got some more for my collection, including my first E-Type Jag.PSX_20250522_151749.jpg

The TX500h f Sport had been in the shop all week on an air bag related recall

I just returned the loaner and picked my car

They had washed it and the interior is filthy

I’ll be spending the weekend setting up a Go Fund Me to bail me out of jail on assault charges

Well the weather's crap so I'm watching Law&Order from 2002
I find the old episode's 90s mid 2000 to be more interesting.
We hit almost 21C, not a cloud in the sky, but very windy, good for drying the ground though.

I've been watching all the old CSIs, most of the main guys are d1cks, but the female leads make up for it, especially Emily Procter from CSI Miami.

Got to 67 here today and saying sunny tomorrow but then not looking good

I thought I had all day tomorrow to get the lawn cut but my youngest granddaughter is having her birthday party right in the middle of the day
