Nice! Those are the kinds of gifts that I love! I have a full size M&P 40 that is a great shooter! Also been thinking about picking up the shield .40 as well.

Good call! Do you like the sear in a carry piece as well? I've been thinking about doing the swap on my M&P 40 but am not so sure I'd be comfortable since mine doesn't have a thumb safety and the fact that I daily carry it during the winters.

Since you don't have manual safety you could go with the duty/carry action enhancement kit (DCAEK I believe is the abbreviation). Makes a world of difference and still feels "safe". If you're not keen on the full kit get the sear and the striker block at the very least.
