Merry Christmas everyone.

Ah the M&P is amazing. If you want to step it up: two words, Apex Sear

Thank me when its in
I've got the full apex tactical trigger kit on my full size M&P40 that I carry daily for CCW.
Drops the trigger to right around 4 lbs, and the break is like snapping a glass rod. It is a must for an M&P, truly transforms that gun!

Xl meguiars banner from my wife

Well my wifes family did this 'basket' thing this year where everyone adds stuff to various themed 'baskets' and each family draws a number and gets a basket.

Everyone thought it was really funny that I got the 'car wash' basket. They said I'll use all that stuff!

It's got;

A coupon for the local swirl-o-matic
AutoZone branded terry towels
Some off-brand car wash soap
Plastic Windshield scratcher, er... scraper
Greasy tire-sling in-a-can
Various armor-all products
AND- a 1.5 gallon mini- shop vac!! Hehehehe

The car wash soap and can of tire-sling will probably get given to whoever I can find that wants it. Terry towels are always useful around the house or for the engine bay. The shop vac will come in handy! I'm certainly not gonna be a jerk and tell them all that nobody in their right mind should use anything in that basket on their car! LOL. But I thought it was funny, anyway. Well-meaning, but it's like an auto-geekers nightmare 'car wash kit'.

By the way, I tried to throw some microfiber towels in that car wash basket back when we didn't know who was getting what- and they just pointed at the big bag of terry towels and said "There's plenty of rags in there it doesn't need any more".

Hehehe.

Also got a $75 visa gift card- which matches up oddly with the $75 free shipping on AGO + Free wax. Hmmmmm...

My wife got me a few things including a really cool tool-bag with a handle on it. Fits a few microfiber towels and my mercury pro bottle. Fantastic! I live in an apartment and so I am always lugging towels and bottles down to the car to wash. This is way cool because it's not a big bulky tote or detailing bag that has a bunch of stuff I'm not using- it's JUST the right size for waterless washing. It'll hold a bunch of towels, waterless wash solution, QD spray, tire gel, applicator pads, etc. Everything I need for my wash routine!

Now I've gotta figure out if I can run that shop vac off of a good sine wave power inverter. No outside outlets; but it would be good for basic clean up!

And you have no reservations about possible accidental discharge with the kit on a carry? I'm a 1911 guy so I'm used to having thumb, grip, and drop safeties.

Got to see my 13 month old daughter take her first step. Best Christmas ever!

I love 1911's but I would never dream of carrying one, too pretty lol. I'd be afraid of wrecking it. One of these days I would love to get a Springfield Range Officer (I drool everytime I see that gun).

Apex makes two kits for the M&P, I went with their DCAEK kit (Duty, Carry Action Enhancement Kit) The kit is specifically designed for people who use their guns as either a duty weapon (police officers) or people like me that use it for their CCW.
https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html

I have yet to run into any issues whatsoever with the kit being in my daily carry.
I keep it secure in a crossbreed supertuck deluxe and have not hand any issues whatsoever (team this up with one of their belts, and it's in my opinion one of the most comfortable carry rigs for a full size gun).
I took a friend from work out shooting and they dropped my M&P40 while loaded, no issues whatsoever. The gun fell from approximately 5 ft onto a combination of dirt & rock (typical outdoor gun range) the gun took a really good jolt when it fell, but no misfire... Put a nice scratch on my slide though :( .

To answer your question:
Yes, at first I did have a strong reservation about it, but the improvement the kit makes is worth it in my opinion. After carrying it for 3 years now, I'm confident my weapon is safe and have no reservations about an accidental misfire.

FYI to all-
If you carry, please check with your local law enforcement agency regarding the legality of modifying a weapon you carry legally concealed. In my area our sheriff explained it to me as this: As long as the weapon is in the same condition as when you took your shooting exam, there are no issues.

Now THAT is FUNNY my brother! Yesireeee....... they get the 'car guy' a top notch car scratch... car wash kit. I'm with you though, that lil' vac may come in handy indeed. ;)

Me loves me some 1911's.
Kimber America | Ultra TLE II
This is my DC, via a custom IWB. Wouldn't have it any other way. :)
OTOH, I've got a little XDM Compact that, for a "striker" gun is a sweet lil' ride. Not a Glock fan (at all) but do have a few 'strikers'. ;)

Got to see my 13 month old daughter take her first step. Best Christmas ever!

That is a WINNER for sure brother. :dblthumb2:
Seems like just yesterday mine was a toddler. Yet just a year ago she was engaged (for Christmas) and married the day before her 25th birthday (in July). :)

*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*_*

Now y'all wanna' know that I GOT for Christmas?

Are ya' sure?

Wasn't as sexy, clean, or as pretty as what everyone else got. But, it is something that NOBODY can do without, and considering we had a whole house full of people here, I seriously needed it, and needed it something BAD.

Ya' see, we (my wife's family) always do everything on Christmas Eve, that night. Because when she was little, her daddy was a 'railroad man', and was subject to "call out" on Christmas day, so they always did it the night before. Even after he had seniority the tradition stuck so it was something that they never changed. Made for a lot of unhurt feelings come Christmas day when the kids were born as we could have ours with the kids, then go visit my Mom's, then go visit hers, or they'd come to us to see what Santa brought.

Well this time everyone decided to come our place. We have ALWAYS gone to 'Nana's', ALWAYS, (except for 1 time in 36 years). Well this time even my brother in law flew his family in from California, Yorba Linda in fact. Nana and Papa are not going to be with us much longer and believe me it was awesome to take the stress of her, let us cook, and just have everyone show up. Yes indeed. :xyxthumbs:

That was up until about 1:30 am the 24th, when during our house cleaning the wife came from the basement bathroom with a *look* on her face. This is a *look* I've seen before, one that typically comes with dollar signs attached. Seems our septic tank decided to back up in the basememt tub. OH JOY OF JOYS, what a TOY!

So I drop a message to my 'guy' and we finally got to bed around 4:15. At 6:05 am (to be exact), he called me. He had SEVENTY CALLS come in "over in the night" he said. Me and he have done this dance before, as the LAST TIME it did it.... it was New Year Eve! OMG, what is it with Christmas and New Years that makes my septic tank take it's own $hit? Arrrrrggggghhhhhhhhhh........................................

But he promised that he'd get a truck to me, on Christmas Eve, not knowing when, if it'd be before dark, but he'd get someone to me. I stressed that "I have a house full of people on the way, some from California", and I'm sure they'll be needing to 'take a load off' (if you get my drift).

We did not EVEN THINK of telling everyone, no sir, not gonna' happen. ;) In the meantime, it was just the 3 of us here, waiting, waiting on a small army of folks to show up. My son, the ex-boy scout he is, came up with an idea that in his own words, "would make Phil (from Duck Dynasty) proud". He 'double bagged' it, TWICE! my arse off.

Sure enough, just before dark his 'guys' called and were on the way, BUT their gas card wasn't working (something with it being cracked) and of course they were at an automated fueling station. Tried to talk me into waiting, oh NOOOOOOOOOOO.

OTOH, he was in dire need of fuel or he'd not be able to make it back home. He ended up getting his wife and she was going to come down from Commerce. From there to HERE is TWO HOURS. That wasn't going to happen either. Just told him I'd come up with enough cash to put fuel in his truck, (although I wasn't planning on paying in cash).

Meantime we were all eating dinner. And y'all know what happens after a big Christmas dinner.

Well after dark they get here, a big cheer erupted from the crowd and I went out to put my Brinkman swirl finder light on the matter (matter, ain't that funny). And of course the family started tearing into presents.

Seems there was more than our fair share of 'presents'. Yuuuuck! Any-who, fast forward 2½ hours and they were buttoned up, moving the flower bed back into place, (or what was left of it). And by then, thanks to my choice of Christmas gifts for me, CASH, I had the money to pay the guys with. Didn't want to spend $465 on THAT, I can tell y'all that for freaking SURE! Somehow I was thinking a new Rupes, instead I got a new Poopees.

So at the end of the night, what did I get for Christmas? Well lets just say I got something we all need, a place to "go". So yeah.... we had a Very $hitty Christmas.:o

^ I'm sorry to hear about your Christmas ordeal but I must admit I had to laugh while reading this. I'm sure you weren't laughing amidst this but at least you got to spend time with dear family members and made memories that will last a lifetime.

I received some ratchet box end wrenches (metric and english), 16mm and 18mm wrench (need the odd sizes for the Gator), socks, overalls, radio headset (for mowing), thermal underwear, truck cargo net (but too big), and few other items.

Nice pair of Diesel shoes, Assassin's Creed 3 for the Xbox, handful of movies, nice hoodie and a really nice watch from my parents.

A shirt from my mom, which was probably gifted so that I at least had SOMETHING to open. Then my daughter gave me baseball cards which she picked out at her school shopping store............... I don't even speak of baseball, I'm assuming they didn't have much of a dad selection cause she nailed the gifts for her mom and 2 cousins.

Lol, Our ways of thinking are the same! I refused to carry my Kimber CDP pro II until it had it's first scratch from the range! Lol! Since then I carry it either appendix or in a cross tuck.

You definitely got me thinking about a full kit for my M&P! It's a straight shooter now so I can only imagine after the kit. My buddy had some custom work done to his and although its nice and crisp at the range, it will double tap on occasion and there's no way I'd be comfortable with it for carry!

Thank me when its in

Oh yeah! My daughter has the Apex in her M&P, we went out shooting Christmas day so I got to try both side by side, that is now on my to-do list.
