I know I know I post lot of question but I have so much to learn!:xyxthumbs:

So, I bought Poorboy Black Hole and use it on 4 cars now. I think it's easy to apply/remove, smell nice, great slickness BUT.. it doesn't seem to hide a lot..( or maybe i'm expecting too much from a filler?)

Is there better filler than PB Black Hole? or filler that can be used on both light and black car?

Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion isn't an option for me because it remove old wax and I don't want to remove my 3 coat of souveran and 2 coat of Natty (lol!). I'm more looking for a REAL FILLER with no other property.

Actually another forum member showed us pictures of a 50/50 shot with and without Poorboy's Black Hole on his family member's dark-colored Ford Expedition, I believe it was. The fill/hide abilities were very impressive.

Other non-cleaning glazes include Danase Wet Glaze and Chemical Guys EZ Creme Acrylic Glaze.

correct me if I'm wrong please but, wouldn't you have to put the glaze/filler before the wax in order to see results?

Megs #7 always seemed to work well, doubt it sealant compatible but works well with waxes.

Is this for car's you're detailing for money?

Or your own personal cars?

:)

That would be my question too! Personally I don't like nor use them. Unless you call Souveran or DoDo Juice fillers. I have used DWG. Danase Wet Glaze, and I did not know that it was a filler. It was on my own vehicle,so it does not matter. If I know that a product is a filler,I tend to shy away from it. If a customer requested it,I would tell them what it actually was. Let them know that the scratches, marring and rids would return.

Technically, anything that leaves itself behind on the surface is filling. That doesn't mean it's a filler in what most people consider the word filler to mean.

For example if you apply a paint sealant and it leaves behind a layer of man-made protective polymers, just that fact that the polymers are coating over the surface means they are also at the same time filling.

IF these are customer cars, don't over-promise but instead let them know that swirls and scratches are removed through various correction steps and you're happy to do these extra steps but they require more time and products so their will be a higher charge.

You might also explain that if you remove the majority of the swirls for their car but then they run the car through the car wash then they're just going to come back again and they would be better off to just have you clay the paint, (if needed), and then use a one-step cleaner/wax.

The paint will still look a zillion times better, you'll be done faster with less work and more profit.

I've used Poorboys Black hole many times and imo it is great stuff but you may be expecting to much from it.I like to use it when a customer all ready know that his car isn't going to be 100% and keep in mind it also washes off and you will be back at square one again.

I've heard nothing but good things about Auto Glym, it's supposed to have some amazing filling abilities. The English guys over at another forum turned me onto it. Works great if you have a car with questionable paint thickness, and you don't want to risk doing any kind of polishing. But of a pain to work with, or the sample I had was. Also pricey, but I think worth it if you're working on something like a 1968 Rolls Royce or something with questionable paint history.

Other than that I've been using Black Hole on my Civic SI, just cause I haven't had time to do any correction (and I really need to get a hold of a paint gauge to check it out), so it still looks good. It's not a 100% fill like some people think, the RIDS and heavier swirls still show through, but the lighter stuff covers pretty well, and it plays nice with WGDGPS!!!!

I bought black Hole because my car is black but now I would need to buy a light-colored filler for customer's car.

I did a customer this week and told him the fact and what it was but the fact that I top it with Klasse Sealant, doesn't make it more durable and last longer than if it was topped under a wax?

But maybe i'm not using it correctly: I use the WG applicator pad( it's a black pad) I then rub BH on the paint by panel when I don't see any hazing I put more product. Then I wait 5 minutes after i've done the whole car to remove it.. is it OK?

I have a bottle of the Wolfgang Glaze. It works good when I have some minor swirls and not quite ready to correct them.

Belcherm, the Wolfgang Finishing Glaze isn't really a glaze, it's a finishing polish. It's actually just about equal to Menzerna 106FF/FA. So you could be doing some damage with that stuff.

Don't think DWG has fillers, just polymers and gloss enhancement properties (at least thats my understanding).

Correct it's a fine polish.

You know what the best filler of swrils is? Megs 105/205 or Menz SIP/85rd. They fill so well that you will never see them. Filling swrils is like a women who uses silicone.

Lol, my thoughts exactly. Just do it right the first time and maintain the finish and educate the customer. I couldn't sleep at night if I used a glaze on a customers car to hide defects.

Haha maybe where I live, people don't pay as mush as in your hood!

I like to use filler to replace really fine polish ( Because I did SSR2.5, i should do SSR1 then LSP. well I just do SSR2.5---Filler-- wax). I mean when you get paid for a 4hrs job, you can't wash the car, clay do 2 stage of polish and then wax!

:iagree:I couldn't live with myself hiding stuff. Call it what you want, I would rather correct it. It's like putting a picture over a hole in the wall, or putting a throw rug over a stained carpet. I would know it's there, and it would bug the heck out of me.

I agree with you Lou. I felt really crappy when I had to use Black Hole on my Civic just cause I didn't have the time (and questionable clear coat thickness in a few spots thanks to resprays)....
