Thats awesome. The last pic and your comment made me lol. At least you'll know your baby will be well protected by her ;)

English Setter. We got him two years ago from an English Setter rescue. While he is not perfect, he has come a long way. He is older, but nobody knows how old. The vet thinks he is 8 or 9. He has tons of energy, though. He patrols the back yard for squirrels, rabbit, birds, etc. He has caught a few of each but drops them when told.

This is my parents dog. I still consider her my dog, as I bought her for my Mom Christmas of 2005 (I still lived with my parents at that time).

Baby is already born now, a son :-) and she 's a perfect bodyguard. If the doorbell rings, she'll get up and get in front of the crib. You won't get to him :-)

Dogs' know!

If I may, when my wife was going thru 'chemo' (many years ago) our (actually hers') dog would NOT leave here side on those days when she got the 'cocktail.' He'd just lay next to her on the bed, how he could 'hold it' that long is still a mystery to the both of us.

He knew, his Mommy was hurtin'.

I can imagine... nothing bigger then their love for you.
Hope your wife is doing better by now.

Thank you for asking, she's great! This was in '98.

'Critters' only want to please, treat them with love, kindness and respect- they will return it 100000%!

Sweet dogs here and some amazing stories.

I've been doing Pet Therapy visits to hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, etc. for years and I can attest to the 'wellness' dogs can share with people. Here is my partner on those visits: A German Shepherd rescue. Note she is missing one of her front legs.

A lot of the fine members here at AGO know my girl "Jack". She's been in my avitar since day 1 here at AGO. I always knew Jack was a Beagle mix but I didn't know what she was mixed with until her 15th year with me. I was told this past Thanksgiving while visiting my brother in upstate New York that Jack is Beagle/German Sheppard/Pointer. I love posting pictures of her so here are a few of my favorites.

Oh how I miss my girl Jack.... She was such a wonderful companion.

Jack passed in January of this year and just when you think enough time has passed that looking at the photos won't bring about tears and emotion... well you know the rest..

My boy Colt is now getting a little notoriety in the detailing world, well at least in Northern Virginia anyway.

Colt and I have been obedience training and he's doing wonderfully as he's much more willing to make the time than am I. He's a fun little guy and I suppose he'd deserve it if I'd just let go of "My Girl Jack". I'll have to give the avitar spot to my boy Colt.

Here are a few photos of Colt.

I have retired racing greyhounds I adopted when their careers were done. My first, Ringo was one of a litter of three named for the beetles. Eighteen months later, I adopted his littermate Paul when he retired from a successful racing career.About two years after that, someone sent me a link to an adoption kennel in Atlanta where John was returned after living two years in a home. Around that same time, I found out that Ringo had bone cancer that was very advanced. We knew we would have room for another greyhound all too soon and decided to adopt John too. The three were reunited for about a month until, sadly, we had to say goodbye to Ringo. He is memorialized in my avatar.

Fawn colored Great Dane. It's always interesting living a dog that's 34" at the shoulder and 150lbs who thinks they must be with you ALL the time. I've almost forgotten what it's like to navigate around the choke points in my house without having to nudge the dog out of the way so I can get through.

Despite that we love her and I can't imagine ever sharing my house with another breed.
