What Kind of Dog Do You Have?

Fawn colored Great Dane. It's always interesting living a dog that's 34" at the shoulder and 150lbs who thinks they must be with you ALL the time. I've almost forgotten what it's like to navigate around the choke points in my house without having to nudge the dog out of the way so I can get through.

Despite that we love her and I can't imagine ever sharing my house with another breed.

I love all dogs. I'm sure I have dog in my DNA. But, don't big dogs rock? Granted, I can only fit my two GHs in my mini-van, but they are always ready to co-pilot (and leave nose prints on the windows.) :-)

My huskies. Both rescued from Texas Husky Rescue and the one on the right has a small part wolf in her.

1 year old Belgian Shepherd. This is "Bronson" Sorry about the lousy picture.

My wife and kids bugged me for months about getting a dog. We had a German Shepherd before. Eventually my wife gave me a guilt trip and I told her get whatever you want as long as it's a Shepherd. She picked him up at a shelter in April. The poor guy was malnourished and weighed 65 pounds. You could see his ribs. He's now 90+ pounds. Loves us, great companion and well...... A little protective to say the least. What can I say. The family's best friend. Doesn't like skateboarders at all.

this is Remi - a long haired German Sheppard. She'll be three years old next month and is my constant companion.

Yes they do. My parents and several friends all have small dogs. They are great animals, but a quiet, stately, gigantic dog is a whole different experience that's hard to describe. The fact that our Dane is pretty affectionate while still being mellow and lazy just really clicks with me and I don't mind the things you have to deal with when sharing a home with an animal that large.

Here's Riff, a Golden Retriever/Chow/Who-Knows-What-Else Mix:

I told Riff I needed a swirl finder, and he thought I said squirrel finder:

So true. Whenever I'm in a large parking you can spot the dog owners a mile away-just look at the rear windows. My pup is always ready to do a road trip.

The Vet/Breeder we bought him from = litter box trained him, so in these Michigan Winters, at 2AM when some dog owners are out walking their dog, mine just gets up and goes in the spare bathroom and does his thing ...

He's a great dog

I love IGs. I had 6, now I'm down to just one.

Two German shepherds. They're brothers and just turned 3 the end of September. Benny is the bigger and lighter colored one . Mooree is basically all black and smaller.
