I have an orange, gray, and red CCS pads and a white foam pad. I have a PC7424, I was told to use the SG with a red or grey pad, but can I apply the AIO with an orange CCS pad?

The Klasse AIO is a chemical cleaner/sealant, kind of like a normal cleaner/wax except the protection ingredients are not "wax".

It's non-abrasive so any mechanical cleaning action you get will come from the aggressiveness of your application material, in your case a foam pad, and the process, the process means how it's applied, in your case the PC.

Depending upon how the paint on your car reacts to aggressive foams used at high speed, you might be okay or you might see micro-marring if you use an aggressive foam cutting pad.

I would suggest trying to use the Klasse AIO with a polishing pad first and do a TEST SPOT, make sure you're getting the results you want and hope for in one small area before buffing out the entire car.

You can also test using the cutting pad but my guess is on a dark or black colored car you would see some light micro-marring from the combination of Klasse AIO and the aggressive foam formula combined with the violent oscillating action of the PC on the 5-6 speed setting.

If you're working on a light colored car you might not see it as dark colors and black show everything. It doesn't mean the micro-marring isn't taking place, it's just that you might not be able to see it.

So test first with a tape-line and do a test spot with one or the other pad and product combination and make sure you're getting the results you want before buffing out the entire car.

I invested quite a bit of time into answering questions for a person new to machine polishing in the below thread, it's thorough and detailed. Maybe give it a read-through for some tips and techniques to help you...

How to approach buffing out your car for the first time

After you use the Klasse AIO you can then use any of your very soft pads to apply the SG

Speed Setting for Klasse AIO
For cleaning ability, use the Klasse AIO on the 5 to 6 Speed Setting, basically you want to see your pad rotating under pressure but don't use a lot of pressure as that's not how this type of product should be used. If you have swirls and scratches get a product that uses mechanical abrasives of some type.

Speed Setting for Klasse SG
Use the 4 setting. You're basically just trying to spread out a VERY thin layer and pads move over the surface better at the 4 setting than slower settings but you can use a slower setting if you like.

Anytime someone is new to Klasse SG I recommend applying to a small section about a foot squared and after letting it dry, wipe it off and get a good feel for the application and wipe-off of the product. It will teach you to apply a thin coating.

Wow great information Mike. Would the Orange CCS pad be too much cutting power with the AIO? I plan on claying, AIO, SG, then DPMW. The pads would be Red CCS for SG, Gray for DPMW, what are some opinions on Orange CCS with AIO? And yes, it is a black car, and I have 5 in my fleet! Tough to keep clean, but amazing when finished!

yeah dont use it with orange, orange is for fixing minor blemishes with an abrasive product

I use KAIO with white polishing pads only, speed 5, pressure of the machine only, just like Mike says

my black car likey...

Ok I'll try the white polishing pad. I have 2009 Hyundai Sonata, 2009 Acura TSX, 2007 Mazda 3, 2006 Hyundai Sonata and a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 that are all black. I also have a 2009 Hyundai Elantra (I know, alot of Hyundai's) that's red. If I dont like how KAIO looks, I'll just work with the XMT2, always seems to work well. I'm going to work on the TSX probably this weekend, if I can I'll take pics and post.

Definitely do some testing with your pad choices as the aggressiveness or non-aggressiveness of your "application material" is a strong influencing factor as to the results you'll see on a clear coat finish over a dark color.

Pads = Application Material

Got an article on that...

Factors that affect how aggressive or non-aggressive a product is...

Awesome Mike thanks so much! Another question, what would I use on a tonneau cover? Need to keep that looking as new as possible.

I am actually looking for some similar help. I have applied Klasse HGSG by hand and am looking to use my PCXP.

I am guessing i use the blue LC pad, i see setting 4. How do i spread it so thin though? Do i prime the pad with the KSG -- re: put a nickle size on the pad and work it in with my finger? I know the KSG page says if you can see it its too thick, i assume the same rule applies. Also, do i spread it on and wait 12 hours to remove? I am still confused what the curing method is.

thanks!

I'm with Mr Turco. I went to apply it over the weekend, and it was a PITA to get off
