What Polisher Or Buffer Should I Get?

Nice. Honestly I can't say exactly what kind of deal, just call him and you'll know, he's the guy.

Count on me when needed,

Kind Regards.

I'm 3 months here in autogeek and I made my choices. Flex PE14-2-150 and Flex 3401. I know that rotary mashines are for profesionals and I'm not a pro but I will use rotary with spot pads and sometimes try to be a pro. I dont have a plan to quit this job I will be a pro one day and I will need rotary any way. When i have chance to buy one more it will be Rupes 15.

Now i need some answers if someone can help me.
I want to use hybrid pads, I even want to have a backing plate and use 5 hybrid pads but I can't find them nowhere in europe and they will be very expensive from autogeek.

I want a perfect finish and I'm concerned will I have a good results with menzerna & sonax pads which I have them in my country. I also will use menzerna & sonax polishes like fg 400 sf 4000 perfect finish 4/6. I live in Macedonia and I have just 3 car care companies in my country Sonax, menzerna & mafra.

I forgoted 3M and turtle wax but I dont use those product

When there is a sale at autogeek do flex's go on-sale unlike rupes? I might wait after i come back from Switzerland, Italy and France and then buy it because i probably wont get it in time before i leave and i might as well wait for a sale.

I would do exactly what Rafael suggested, Flex 3401 with all the backing plates and small hybrid pads. I would consider getting 6 or more of the orange and white pads. Those are my most used and having multiple on hand really helps.

I was actually in the same boat as you maybe 2 years ago and happened to be in Florida so I stopped by the showcar garage at autogeek and Mike Phillips was gracious enough to take a few hours out of his day to let me try out the flex and Rupes polishers on a really cool 1932 Ford. I ended up choosing the Flex 3401 over the Rupes because it seemed to do just a little bit better of a job. That being said, I just added a Rupes 15 to the detailing cart, but still prefer the Flex for heavier correction jobs.

I also agree on the Menzerna polishes, do a search for the "smack technique". One of the forum members put together a how to on using these polishes with the flex and hybrid pads. It has changed the way I polish cars, it's that good.

Keep whatever waxes and sealants you have and like, and it sounds like you already have good microfibers.

You can order everything from autogeek, they will match anybody's prices and the reason most of us keep coming back is because their customer service can't be beat. Call Nick, he is known for taking very good care of forum members.

ViGi, consider starting a separate thread will probably get you better answers, a lot of people are sick of looking at the "which polisher is better" threads and probably won't even see your questions.

Rafael,

It is of no surprise to me that your business is probably doing fantastic, you are quite the salesman. You gave extremely complete and thorough advice and don't think the OP could have asked for more sound advice. I also have been convinced for awhile that when I upgrade my GG6" that it will be the flex that I go to.

im defiantly gonna get the flex, i was very surprised that there was not a sticky with a comparison chart between all the polishers. Also, which variant should i get regarding the cable, HD or regular, is the 50$ worth it? Thanks

Alright im either gonna get a Flex or a rupes because that seems to be recommended and i feel like buying a 100$ polisher like a griots is going to not last or not be super effective, but i have no clue which one i should get.

That's just silly logic.

If you just want one machine, and budget is not an issue, get the Flex 3401.

My PC has the hd add-on and my Rupes doesn't. I actually prefer my Rupes extension chord more since I don't have to worry about having a big long cable to wrap when I'm done.

Or getting all tangled up like my PC hd model does.

Just my thoughts.

I didn't read all the post ,but if you are doing this just for your self I would go with a consumer polisher. Like Meguiars, Porter cable, or Griots. I lean towards the Griots because of the lifetime warranty. Mines stop working after 2 years. Sent back to manufacturer they sent me a brand new one.

Griots is what you need, good power, lifetime warranty. If you're just doing your own stuff or a here and there, more than enough.

:dblthumb2: I have the 6" & 3" and I use the micro-fiber pads. Optimum GPS or XMT 360 topped with Pete`s 53.

I am not a pro but I do play one on TV :)
