What to buy, What to buy...

I just watched the video on this system. They also said I could use an air compressor to clean it. Thoughts on that?
Compressed air is the best way to clean the MF pads. Do you have compressed air?

Any thoughts on the DP items I listed?
DP products are very good products, overall. The interior cleaner isn't the strongest out there, but it does a nice job. The DP interior protectant is nice as well.

I don't use these products, but they're good. :xyxthumbs:

Yes I have a nice Dewalt. I love it and love to use it on everything I can! :dblthumb2:

What do you use on the interior? I live in MN so the winter is not so nice to the interior mats and trim...

Awesome! A huge plus for compressed air when using the MF system.

For interior cleaning, I use an APC, specifically Optimum Power Clean. You can dilute it to your liking for the job at hand. I also use OPC to clean wheels, wheel wells, tires, engines, leather, and even paint. It's safe to use on all these surfaces, even un-diluted! However, for cost efficiency, most people dilute it 3:1, which is still very effective!

For interior dressing, I use Finsk Kare Top Kote(#108). It gives a nice, uniform look to the interior, and it's anti-static which helps repel dust. Apply, then after a few minutes lightly buff. I also use it on my tires and engine dressing. I try to buy products that have multiple uses. DP interior dressing is very nice too, just doesn't have as many uses as FK Top Kote!

I think I've been convinced to buy a Griot's Garage DA from people on here. :thankyousign:

Now what to buy with it...

I have:
-liquid souveran
-Klasse HGSG
-Pinnacle ultra clay bar (and lube)

Im thinking about:
Cobra™ Deluxe 6 inch Terry Bonnets 2 Pack
Autogeek Detailer's Bag, detailing bag, detailing supplies bag, storage bag, tool box, buffer bag, car care organizer, buffing pads organizer
Cobra Waffle Weave Microfiber Glass Towels, glass cleaning towels
DP Total Interior Cleaner and DP Interior Surface Protectant come together for superior interior care.
Lambswool 6 Inch Leveling Pad (1)

and also need (or want) a swirl remover. My car has 155,000 highway miles and is a 2004 black Honda Civic. It's not in too bad of shape but hood is rough from rocks/sand off highway. I do have paint chips that I have touch up paint for. My son took sand from the ground and rubbed on hood a few years back that I'd like to fix too.

HELP!!!

Thanks everyone!

Get the Megs MF cutting or the Surbuf pads instead of the wool pad. Personally I would get the Megs DA MF System, especially if I was just starting out! Mike has a very good video on it. The GG DA is a no brainer for a hobbyist given its warranty and performance.

I am not a fan of the Detailers Bag for the GG. It isnt a good fit IME!

Trust me, nothing against what Jimmy has to say, but flat pads are the absolutely best when using a traditional DA(Griot's, Meg's, PCXP). Because of the forced rotation of the Flex 3401(what jimmy uses), CCS pads are fine because the dimples help glide the pad along the paint a bit smoother, and the 3401 is more powerful so it doesn't NEED full surface contact with the paint.

I'd skip the M105/M205 and go with the Meguiars DA Microfiber System. You'll get your car looking great in 2 steps with this system!

Meguiars DA Microfiber Correction System, paint polishing system, car polish, car detailing system, compounding system, remove scratches

Pick up some of these and remove wax by hand. These are very nice, super soft MF towels!

Super Soft Deluxe Microfiber Towels, microfiber detailing towels, buffing towels, micro fiber towel, detail cloth
100% agree! Didnt read this before I posted.

It Doesn't fit well in the bag or a different reason? What bag system would you recommend to carry it all in?

Lowe's has really cool two level plastic tool boxes that are on rollers. They hold everything I use for a specific detail except my towels.

I'm on my phone or I'd post a link.

Ill check that out. Thanks. Any one have any other ideas or opinions?

The pictures of the detailing bags are misleading, I purchased the Wolfgang bag and the pockets for the application bottles vary in sizes that aren't practical for transporting/mobile service. My 3401 dosen't fit with pads brushes etc...

Looks great!

What are you going to be using the black and blue pads for?

You don't need both black and blue to apply waxes and sealants. You the blue for waxes and sealants.

Why? I have pinnacle liquid wax and the video on their site says black (gray). How would I benefit from one over the other?

You can use gray, but SOME say gray still has a tiny bit of mechanical cut. You want zero cut when applying waxes or sealants. Blue has zero cut. Gray is more widely known as a finishing pad, although you can use it to apply waxes and sealants as well. I'd personally go with the softer blue pad for applying both.
