I need a new creeper stool, my old one was from Costco, and I used till the wheels fell off literally. I want one that's easy on the back/knees, and is very durable. I remember Joe from Superior Shine used one that looked futuristic, and someone commented on it, saying it was very economical. So input please!!!

The wheels don't last too long and they're only 2.5". The small wheels will catch on the smallest pebble and throw you off.

Very true indeed and wheels are usually hard. They will stop rolling when they hit most anything (mismatch in concrete, stone, etc).

Maybe you could make your own using a 4 wheel furniture dolly. They only cost like $15 and have large wheels. You just need to bolt a seat to it.

Craftsman. $29.00 at Sears. Pneumatic height adjustment (a must). Excellent in the garage but not on rough surfaces.

Best,

Jose

Nice a pneumatic stool, what's considered a rough surface? I have a cement floor....

I use a Werner Aluminum Portable Work Platform I got from Lowes for $39. It is solid as a rock!
I can stand on it & easily do the roof on a SUV. The legs lock & there are no wheels to break off.

Model #: AP-20-MP6

I set it in front of the panel I am working on. When I'm done with that panel I just slide it down.

I also have the Werner platform and use it often with great results. Another item you may want to check out is the Racatac kneeling creeper and seat. I've seen numerous detailers post pictures of this and have it on my wish list of future purchases. Google racatac and you will find numerous retail outlets carrying them :buffing:.

I use a five gallon bucket turned upside down. I am cheap. Lol. I really need to het something better.

I have tried many, this one works well for me.

A lowered office chair. LOL

I just happened to have an old one.

Oh yeah, that and an old milk crate. :xyxthumbs:

On the same topic, what do you guys use when lying on the ground? Depending on how long I'm down there I'll suck it up and lie down on the bare asphalt or grab a patio chair cushion.

I have a Snap On stool from probably 20 years ago, ha. It no longer adjusts in seat height, and it barely rolls. So I guess I'll be paying attention to this thread! I need one too, ha. :dblthumb2:

I own all 3 of the ones on that Griots page. I bought the older version of Kings first. mine is not pneumatic/adjustable. I did not like the seat on it, so I bought the round pneumatic. I primarily use the "Kings" to sit on and drink a beer at the end of a detail.

The round pneumatic is by far my favorite. That is what I would recommend. Gets low enough for wheels and high enough for doors and fenders. Comfortable with nice wheels. I have had mine about 5 years and no problems with wheel wear. Rolls over small pebbles. Does catch on larger ones.

Then I won the little "wide seat with drawer" one at a tech session at their Indiana facility. I primarily use it for exhaust tips and wheels. Sits a little too low for polishing paint on most cars/trucks. I do like the offset shelf. It makes it easier to see and reach for supplies. I dont use the drawer. It has the same wheels as the others.

I too use the Werner platform. Not only is it great for sitting on, but also excellent for truck/van/SUV roofs.
