what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I'll say this about it, first time I used it, tires turned brown almost immediately without agitation and came out C L E A N

As far as AG carrying it, they need to revamp their entire store, this isn't 2012 anymore

Is AGO even trying anymore? Inventory is on a perpetual sale, constant BOGOs, clearances, etc. It's felt the same since 2022 with nearly no refresh in that time (and probably even longer)

This completely opened up the market for THOR to come fill that old AGO void in my opinion.

Took the TAOS through the touch-free wash this afternoon, it too was dirty from just sitting in the very windy storm last night

I’m no expert on paint correction but the technique he used on the one step portion leaves a lot to be desired. It’s no wonder there were still a ton of defects. I don’t even think that kind of polishing qualifies as a gloss enhancement let alone a paint correction. I’ve been able to do in one step what in he did in two with much slower movement, proper technique and a better pad and polish.

They could be using this forum to promote their products, announce sales, etc....just like the old days. It's hard for me to believe that wouldn't be worth it to assign/hire someone for that. Or do they have a Facebook/Instagram/YouTube presence that I am just unaware of.

Take your time he says, then doesn't do that.

You sound surprised by this? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

There's a FB group that is 100% different from this forum. The Admins even seem to be volunteers and not associated with AGO (guessing). AGO in my opinion is dying and seemingly not interested in surviving, but recapturing as much inventory salvage dollars as possible.

The members on the FB group are mostly confident they're the ultimate detailers, nobody is better and any question on the group is below their pay grade. I stopped even looking in on it for months now. The only time it gets interesting is when the Icon Rocklear guys fire up their latest marketing stunts.

Yes, Detailing 101 by Autogeek

It's a very different feel compared to this forum... probably due to the MP influence?

I don’t watch EC’s content because I don’t like his delivery but I never looked down on the quality of his work when I did watch a few minutes of a video but this was on a different level. In one video I do recall him saying that he was trying to get his ceramic coating jobs down to 4 hours and I was wondering if something was wrong with me. I’ve heard Yvan say that if it takes you more than 4 hours to do a coating job you’re doing something wrong. My last coating job took me ten hours and the bulk of it was spent on the paint correction because I wanted to exceed my customer’s expectations as my own. Now I understand how you do a coating in 4 hours and I want nothing to do with that level of work.

He's gotta be talking about the actual coating process

Not just THOR, TRC, Autofiber and I'm sure others. TRC even does their own take on DetailFest. It's sad, really. I still think there is some back story to what was going on in that last year before PBMG got sold, but probably a lot of NDA's so we will never know.

Watching SheepStar right now about PIR and Bilt-Hamber right now

It looks like me using 3 oz in a 32 oz foam cannon was a little light, should've been using about 6 oz but because my car isn't too trashed I've been able to get away with it

That said, I think I'll be starting with 4 oz but shouldn't have to exceed 7 oz. This said, I wonder if I can apply the same or similar process when using Labocosmetica Purifica & Primus

For my setup, 4 oz of Touch-Less gets me 1% PIR and 8 gets me 2%. John at Forensic tested it at .5% PIR and still got decent results.

That's right, almost forgot Jon's fairly recent video, maybe I shouldn't mess with what's been working for me

With as often as you wash your car 3 to 4 ounces should be plenty for you. If it ain’t broke……
