what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

Improved hydrophobics for Gyeon Cure Redefined. Extremely pricey though. Cerakote Platinum Rapid Paint Sealant is a much better value I think.

I hardly ever use as a standalone sealant. As the name implies, its primary function is for protecting coatings during the curing process and as a quarterly topper. You can dilute 1:1 with distilled water if streaking is an issue which does double the product increasing its value proposition, especially if you're using it as a coating maintenance product.

It seems like they made the new version a bit stouter for standalone protection, but you're right the original was intended more as a topper for their coating.

I've used it as a standalone on a few customer vehicles and it does perform very well for a sealant. Gyeon always rates it at >6 weeks but their longevity estimates are always on the conservative side. I've easily seen it last 3+ months on some poorly maintained vehicles and I always use it diluted.

Can't comment on the new version, but I found the price premium of Cure cancelled itself out due to the excellent coverage , ie a little goes a long way.

Apparently the new Cure Redefined is partially solvent based and not water based. Sheepstar gave it a 10/10 for hydrophobics. So it appears to be much stouter than the prior version.

Agreed. I would formerly apply it directly to the panel but with the new version you spray into your towel and apply making that bottle last much longer than a typical 16 ounce bottle and it works. I've contemplated moving away from Gyeon and replacing it with ADS but I keep coming back because Mohs, Cure, Panel Prep, Ceramic Detailer, etc. are all damn good products that keep getting better. Gyeon tends to underpromise and overdeliver.

Been so long I can't even remember. I'm proud of myself and have done a good job "settling" into a process and go-to products the past couple years. The shelf is less cluttered and for the most part only filled with stuff I use often or occasionally. If I am ever curious about something new, or looking for assistance of any kind, I still begin with Forensic Detailing. Though the last video of his I watched wasn't about detailing but how he has had to put $12k into a Porsche he paid $18k for lol. Ouchy.

I watch more than I used to, but I've never bought anything because of what I watched, although I did look at something the other day that I saw tested, but I couldn't confirm that what was available here was the same version as tested, the packaging was different. And no, it wasn't a RW.

Bit of shock with this one, the Megs was leading until a critical moment...........................

One hit with APC instantly killed the Meguiar's Ultimate Ceramic Coating in this video.

No doubt, except that was what, 10 or 15 years ago? Really shows how far behind the ball Meguiar's are. I remember a time when Meguiar's were a leader of the industry, both for professional and weekend warrior.

I actually have very low expectations when it comes to spray sealants, they can only do so much. Nor do I usually buy into torture testing. But you can't market a product with a name like "Ultimate Ceramic Coating" with bold claims of "true ceramic coating" and "superior durability and chemical resistance", only for ONE wipe with APC to kill it instantly.

This popped into my feed about 15 minutes after I saw your post, so I had to watch it. Interesting results, I'd say Meguiar's aren't going to be happy. But the only way to be truly sure is to test on your own paint under your own conditions, and I'm not going to pay what Meg's charges to do that. I know what Boost V2 is like under my conditions, and I like it, so there's that, but I don't like that the spray nozzle needs regular cleaning, the spray pattern can go a bit weird.
