What's the last form of exercise you've done?

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done?

Just had annual training with my unit so that’s nothing too new over the prior year. Just got back.

But also went to the gym as well a few days ago, did 20 minutes of hard cardio, followed by time over tension techniques this time around for upper back, chest and shoulders.

Aiming to do lower back and arms tomorrow and then cool down with abs.

Friday is leg day. Penguin waddle time.

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done?

I cannot tell you how many thousands of flip turns I've done in my life (swam competitively for a long time) . Once you get them down you'll never forget it. It's seriously like riding a bike. They're super tiring if you have not swam in awhile.

Last form of exercise for me were push ups.

my flip turn is pretty consistent, it's the push off into the stream line and not kicking to early of the wall is what i'm trying to fine tune...

p.s. very cool you swam competitively for many years, swimming takes a lot of discipline and it not only utilizes your whole body, but the breathing (both of out of the mouth ad nose) aspect as well which is just as important otherwise you gas/tire yourself out early and disrupt your pattern/flow. i have a lot of respect for olympic swimmers, the training i imagine is very brutal and challenging both physically and mentally. i encourage more people to take up swimming your body will get a full workout...

worked on this drill today...

and always the catch as well...

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done?

walk every day at lunch, do 20 or 30 minutes depending on what lunch schedule I am on. started a keto diet back on 10-08-2017, have lost 62 lbs. hopefully when spring gets here and the weather improves will hit the rail trail near here. kind of hard to walk thru 6 inches of snow :)

Hitting the gym early (5:30am). Chest, triceps and 30 minutes on elliptical.

Some moderate ballet partnering, first class back since holiday break. I both partake in the class and help showcase/teach the combinations. It is good for me as a professional to perfect my technique, and for the students as they get the opportunity to partner with someone experienced.

Wow nice! Always loved ballet.

Re: what's the last form of excercise you've done?

Shoulder Press in the gym to start with and then 50 laps of various stroke pulling in the pool with hand paddles.

Make sure you're in fairly decent shape before using hand paddles to work out, they can really stress your shoulders and if you're not careful, they can also really tear you up.

Wow!

Really? That's you in the picture?

You must be in really good shape. I'm the last guy on earth to do ballet...

That's quite a workout Mike! Swimming is such a good exercise.

Nice looking gym there Frank.

It's the LA Fitness in Wellington...very nice gym!

It has several racquetball courts, basketball court, indoor swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna.

Mike,

Those paddles make me exhausted just looking at them. The paddles must make a regular swim feel like you’re Mike Phelps:)

Looking at this thread has motivated me to get serious about getting back to the gym. I’ve been seriously slacking with my workouts the last few years.

I’d love to have the dedication to swim laps, but I cannot imagine wanting to jump in a 75 degree public H.S. pool when the temps are -10 to -25 degrees. I wasn’t designed for cold weather.

Yes, that is me in the picture! I am in good shape, but I never feel like I am in good enough shape. Ballet is exhausting!

I bet! Always thought dancers were in ridiculous shape!

JKDesign,

Ballet dancers make everything look so effortless and smooth. I’d struggle lifting my 50 pound son above my shoulder:)

I’m guessing the ballet profession has a lot of very meticulous and self-disciplined people. Doesn’t surprise me you are into detailing.

You’ll have to link some videos of your performances if allowed.
