Still at it with the DDP Yoga. Approaching 1 year in March and down 47 pounds approaching the goal of 53. Strength and flexibility are at an all time high.

Also who knew I was actually 6' 1.5' when I thought i was always 6'1" even. My core strength has helped with my posture.

View attachment 62218Walking the trails behind the house. Nice elevation changes. You can see someone on the path way out there in the picture. You have a great view of the mountains as your walking the paths.

more swimming today (using monofins to strengthen dolphin kick), dayum i'm beat...

Started a new interval-type walk, jog, “run” regimen on the treadmill this week.

-walk @ 4.0 mph, 60 sec
-jog @ 6.2 mph, 60 sec
-run @ 7.2 mph, 60 sec
Repeat four times

-walk @ 4.0 mph, 60 sec
-jog @ 6.3 mph, 60 sec
-run @ 7.3 mph, 60 sec
Repeat four times

-walk @ 4.0 mph, 60 sec
-jog @ 6.5-7.0 mph, 60 sec
-run @ 7-8.5 mph, 60 sec
Repeat four times

This workout is a nice change from jogging on the treadmill, burns way more calories and keeps my heart rate up for longer.

FYI, I haven’t been able to complete the full third: walk, jog, run interval.

The sad part is when I was in my mid-twenties I could run at 8.2 mph for two miles as my warm up to my lifting workout, not anymore:)

Thanks for sharing Mike. I like his style of teaching. I’ll try those lateral raises next time.

I started at 15 pound dumbbells for the technique he demonstrates and then went to 10 pounders and the to 5 pounders and my shoulders are burning.

Like he said, had to check the ego at the door...

Friday - gym first then pool workout.

It’s the hand paddles that really make the difference when it comes to swimming or working out.
