What's the real deal with WG Uber?

Soggy dripping towels seem unnecessary when cleaning a properly maintained vehicle. Give me three 16"x16" towels and my spray bottle and it gets no easier + no swirls.

Aha! A perfect opportunity for me to make a suggestion: Damp towels for waterless.

I've found this to be much better than using dry towels doing waterless. More lubricity because of dampness and wipes away cleaner (as in picking up more liquid) per pass.

Wrung out using distilled or tap is okay, but from D114/Uber/UWW+ or other rinseless solution of your choice works best.

Sometimes you just don't want to deal with buckets or can't, so a set of damp towels in a ziploc + waterless sprayer is damn handy.

That's exactly right. Sounds alot like how I go about it too.
I'm liberal enough to the point where just about every part of a panel gets it's own sprays worth of waterless without having liquid drip down on the pavement of course.. But enough to where it all has uniform coverage. Then I begin with no less than 2 quik sprays onto my 1st dry microfiber and begin wiping/swiping. [after that initial priming 1 spray prior to a new panel is usually enough on the towel]

If the door panel is not too dirty [think 3 days worth outside] I'm confident enough to wipe the entire door in 3 non stop passes and follow with the drying towel and come up completely clean. Easy peasy.

Has anyone ever gotten to the point where you've experienced it being too heavy of a dilution? If so, what happens? What are the side effects?

I over-diluted it by mistake (by not paying attention) when I first received the product by adding an extra once of concentrate to a "waterless wash" bottle designated for Wolfgang Uber. The result was visible streaking on my black Challenger. On my wife's light blue sedan streaking was not visible. At proper dilution I cannot see streaking on plain black paintwork.

When streaking is apparent I go over the affected area with D114 at 1:128 dilution and everything looks great.

Yea I've heard it's coming soon... The only thing is that I've sort of grown more and more away from rinseless washing and the more I do waterless wash the more I like it. IMO I can do everything a rinseless can do with a good waterless like D115 or D155, but do it much neater and faster. My gamma seal bucket has been collecting dust in the backyard for at least 6 months now. And while I love D114, I mainly use it straight from a spray bottle for oddball stuff from doorjambs to claylube etc... But waterless with D114 not so much.

From the sounds of it, there's no way the Wolfgang will let down. I'm interested to see if there's a noticeable gloss compared to Last Touch. Slickness should be premium. I hope I don't miss the scent in the way I miss Shampoo Plus when I use 3D Pink.

i like waterless too. i think the key is not letting it get to dirty in the first place. if it does id rather hammer it with the pressure washer and foam gun

Thanks for being the voice of reason.. But you're talking to a guy who sometimes uses a dropper to precisely pull an exact oz. of D114 concentrate to mix into a gallon of distilled water. Yea, I'm that guy.. I need order. Lol.

Better yet, I need these guys to follow through for all the so called German superiority when it comes to precision and details.. You'd think they'd be able to take care of the easy stuff like proofreading their own product description. Or maybe they got ahead of themselves while trying to hype up the product for more uses than they could remember..

Ok I'm probably going overboard now, but I've got a pet peeve when it comes to things like this. It reeks of people not doing their jobs and if that's the case then what the heck is the so called "German research" even worth? [IMO it's never been worth anything special, but they should at least Look the part. No?]

Ok I'm done ranting for now. Lol.

Yeah german polymers gets an eye roll from me, since its made in florida and all.

I use UBER from time to time and the 1/3 of an oz per gallon is a sufficient dilution for rinseless.

I dont know about the detail spray vs. waterless situation though.

As far as it going over your lsp, my vehicles are coated and it doesnt really bother the coatings.

Going back to one of the original questions. Will using uber, either as a wash or detailer, effect the sealant that is on the paint? I have Griots poly sealant on my truck now and would like to know if it is ok to use this on my truck or should I use Griots wash or the new one Nick is talking about?
When using Uber Rinseless as a waterless or rinseless, I've always found it to slightly enhance the beading of whatever LSP I have under it (Powerlock or DG111). This isn't so noticeable with carnaubas under it, but with sealers, yes.

Hmm, I'm going to have to try to remember this tip. Thanks

I sometimes use a 32oz plastic mug; with 4 damp Eagle edgless stuffed inside. From a quick glance it looks as if I'm walking up to the vehicle with a drink in one hand and a spray bottle in another. lol

Very convenient for light duty cleaning/touch up, not to mention no worries of liquid spilling about should you travel with the "kit."

Ok so I'm thinking about buying some Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash Concentrate for the 1st time but the description is full of so many claims that they may have lost track of their own facts? I'm trying to make sense of this...

It says 1/3rd oz. per 16oz. - Which equals 3oz. per 144oz. makes "waterless wash"

Then they go on to say 3oz. per gallon [128oz.] makes "detail spray"

So maybe I missed the news or something, but since when is Detail Spray more concentrated than Waterless Wash?? What the heck are they talking about? I'm trying to give this product a chance but I can't help but think it's a bunch of gimmick when they can't even get their own bold claims in order...

Then there's the word polymer getting thrown around over and over again in the description. Will this WG Uber interfere and change my sealants characteristics [i.e. water behavior, protection from bonded contaminants, weaken my protection by turning it into this layer of "Uber polymers"?

These are my questions. Thanks in advance.

Short answer.....works amazing and this is coming from me who washes more black cars than most....at least it seems. Seriously, the product is awesome. I do mainly rinseless washing on my Audi....did again today, and it's great. 1oz to 3 gals and I save the leftovers and they keep just fine. The 3oz to a gallon was a bit strong for my pure black car and would leave streaks. Now I just use a little over 1oz to a gal and I that's my detail spray. Works great. Key for me and black is to use distilled water. IMO what was happening is there was too much solution aka polymers and they were drying and streaking.

I've used ONR and loved it but Uber edges it out in slickness. Did blackfire but hated it.

Cool cool..

Thx to everyone who replied to this thread. I wasn't really feeling so sure about my decision last night.. But now I'm excited to try this stuff.

You'll love it. One of my favorite products this year. I've never had a streaking problem, but I have played with it and let it dry intentionally at different dilutions. The nice thing is that just a light wipe takes care of dried product if you miss any. My favorite use by far is as a drying aid. Blows my mind every time.

I mix it at 1/3 to 1/2 ounce in a 16oz bottle and use it as both a waterless wash and a detail spray so to avoid having different bottles mixed at different ratios. Works like a charm. And it's also awesome on glass, although I don't use it on my windshield at that ratio.

thats a huge dilution ratio, how is it not like almost pure water? im surprised that small amount can do anything to a whole gallon of water

Which LSP r you using to keep off bonded contaminates?

Eldorado, dont over think this brother. I do agree the dilution instructions on the back are a bit confusing to say the least. I too questioned it myself when I was reviewing and researching it. I just followed the protocol and have had no issues. I really like the stuff so far!

I see you also ordered a coating:) I know you and I were some of the few who were anti coating.... Don't feel bad, I ended up with a coating kit as well. Havent applied it yet but looking forward to trying it out! Hope all is well on your end!

Did blackfire but hated it.

BF cleans pretty well, on par with UWW+. I could see it being a little on the "thick" side for black.

Did you try it as a rinseless? I use the same dilution as Uber/UWW+; 1oz to 3gal of water.

Yea man, I broke down and ordered the coating. Even though I had no plans on getting it, and I still don't know when I'll actually use it for the 1st time as I had no plans on switching my current methods for the cars here at home... I might run a 50/50 test on my hood for starters.

BTW, I was fortunate enough to recieve a sample of Wolfgang Uber today in the mail, thanks to 1 of the awesome people here on AGO. [you know who you are, and I can't thank you enough]

It's too late in the day for me to try it right now, but I can say that it sure doesn't smell as bad as some people made it sound like. I haven't smelled it coming out of the spray bottle yet, but so far I see nothing wrong with the scent.

You and I are like brothers from another mother. You will love it! Trust me!

I too have no issues with the smell and actually find it pleasant.

Keep us updated! Hope all is well in Eldorado land:)
