Yep I know exactly what you mean.

My dream car in HS was the NSX, after I got, I wanted a Modena 360, after I got that I now want the LP640.....

It never seems enough.... The only thing that keeps me happy about the E46 M3 is the color......

And very few things compare to the S2k with the top down hitting 8K RPMs......

I also completely agree with Gary. And I have a bit more to add...

When I was younger I'd frequently think to myself, "If I only had (fill in the blank) I'd be satisfied forever." Then, as I began acquiring those material things that I thought would satisfy me forever, I realized that they do satisfy in the short term, but not in the long run.

For me, all these material things lose their luster after the initial few weeks or months of ownership. Afterwards they become just "things". They're still nice, and enjoyable to own. But I eventually get a bit bored with them and begin looking for the next one in line. I've realized it's a losing game.

That's not to say I don't appreciate fine cars or fine craftsmanship in general. I do. But I can't get myself to drop the money on something like a 911 turbo (which is the closest thing to my realistic dream car I suppose), simply because I know that in a few months I'll be used to it and looking for the next in line.

All that said, I still do buy things to satisfy my irrational desires of materialism. But I try to do it with the understanding that it's small stuff in the big picture.

I'm easy to please. Two cars that I think are affordable and I'd like to have would be a Ford Fusion or VW Passat. I have a 2005 Taurus now so maybe in a year or two I'll upgrade. When the kids are grown I'd like a BMW. A 3 series would be just fine but a 5 series would be really nice. Honestly no real interest in anything fancier than that. My son asked me if I could win any car I wanted what would it be. My answer was simple "whatever would sell for the most the next morning".

Close to mine My Dream Car is a 70' Hemi Cuda Vert (or Challanger) and I hope to own another 340 Plymouth Duster. I love my mustang a lot but my first car being a 72' 340 Duster I would love to have one again (there still affordable).
 
In a few years ill be getting a TT Supra. For my Dream, Dream car would be a Jet Black 1971 426 Hemi Cuda hard top. Cant go wrong with Mopar!!
 
My dream car that I can afford (after I have worked some years:P rigth now nothing is affordebel) is a Renault Sport Clio V6

So many....although my ultimate dream car would probably be the Mclaren F1. Short of that, the list can go on and on and on.
 
I'm surprise at how many people mentioned a Porsche Turbo. I have been seriously thinking about getting one. Performance wise it's a great car and priced very resonable compared to a lot of exotics. It also comes with a 4 year 50,000 mile warrenty which is great compared to a lot of exotics. My Gallardo only came with a 2 year 24,000 mile warrenty. Also a lot of the dealers like Lamborghini and Ferarri are terible to deal with. I can say this from experience. Porsche dealers have a much better rap and there are a lot more of them. I have been think about one in speed yellow or metalic black. The are quite a few of them available in black but I have not seen to many in yellow. What to you guys think?

I think the GT3 is the better choice, from all reports on Porsche. It appears the Turbo has become the laxed mans version over the last two designs. I have also heard the owner of Champion Porsche here locally, still walks the showroom floor daily and speaks to most of the perspective Porsche owners. Its nice to know he uses them, races them, and available to shoot the crap about them.

Scott, your starting to sound like Surfer. Pretty soon you going to like Vipers. ;)

I like the GT3 except they all have suede seats. The only problem with a GT3 they are in very short supply because Porsche really limits there production. They are currently going for a nice premium and the RS price rediculous. I have a hard time paying over sticker price for any car. In the past few months I have driven a number of different 2007 Turbos and GT3's. The turbo is very noticable faster. The GT3 seems to handle better. For a street car I like the turbo better. If I was going to drive it on the track I would get a GT3. The turbines on the 997 turbo are always spinning and there's next to no lag time. The car just takes off. A lot of the turbos have the triptonic trans and they do seem a bit lax and can be driven like a regular car. I still want a six speed even if the triptonic shifts faster.
 
Once i saw this car on Top gear and Fifth Gear i was hooked.

gary thats not a stock front bumper on the yellow turbo u posted right? Those turn signals are very odd... still a hot car though, but im not inot yello really.

and yea, slushbox is always the way to go...more fun!

It is a stock front bumper for a 997 turbo although it does have a Champion Carbon Fiber Front Lower Spoiler on it. It does not look any different but it's made out of carbon fiber even though you can't really tell in the picture. The front and backs of a regualer 997 vs a 997 turbo vs a 997 GT3 all look different from each other.

Here in the states, they use a GM Ecotech 2.0L engine with the available supercharger to put out an equal 300hp as the Honda Type-R K20 engine which will put its 0-60 time at ~2.7sec and ~3.5sec for the 220hp version. Both are fantastic engines, and some may even consider the GM to be a superior breed.

I absolutely love this car, but when it comes to my #1 favorite, the Mclaren takes that spot.
