Whats your favorite car shampoo?

Besides Dodo BTBM and super natural what other washes really help with hard water. I have a real problem with hard water where I live I'm bout a 1/4 mile from the Mississippi River and its literally muddy water coming out the house.

My water is ~220-250ppm and NXT works amazingly well.

"Manufactured with water softeners, NXT Generation Car Wash helps reduce mineral deposits in hard water, leaving behind a spot-free finish. (It is very important that you dry the vehicle completely to arrive at a spot-free surface!)"

I've tried Optimum, GoldClass, TW Platinum, CGCWG, DG901, Z7, AA, and quite a few others I can't recall. At $9 for 64 oz, its very hard to beat.

Thanks wasn't planning on ever trying NXT wash but you certainly changed my mind will add some to my next order.

In that case, a filter! Im the MAN

;)

Im a shampoo junking and after having used Wolfs Chemicals White Satin several times I can honestly say it is now my favorite shampoo. More so than Dodo Juice BTBM which I always preached was the best shampoo out there. It is many times slicker and rinses off just as well if not better and it cheaper.

The other traditional shampoos I have are:

Meguiars Gold Class
Meguiars NXT Shampoo
Meguiars Ultimate Wash & Wax
Optimum Car Wash
Duragloss 902
Ultima Paint Guard Wash
Poorboys Super slick & suds
Chemical guys Glossworkz
Dodo Juice Born to be mild
Dood Juice Sour Power

I have Wolfs Chemicals Nano Bathe also, but I havent used it yet since I like the white satin so much. I hear the Nano bathe is supposed to perform better, but its made to be used in conjunction with Body Wrap which I only have on a few panels of my car to test and dont want to skew any results by it adding additional nano protection to the finish.

Does white satin rinse residue free(no glossing agents) like BTBM?

A green, biodegradable Car Wash for beaters -- it goes on sale every couple of months and is a pretty good soap for cars I don't intend to detail.

Megs Gold Class and Hyper Wash -- I love GC's lather, but HW is almost indistinguishable from it at a much higher dilution ratio, so it's substantially cheaper.

I will likely order ONR for winter washes, but I may add a few drops to HW, too.

I cant say it does or doesnt but I dont really notice much additional gloss over the lsp I'm using. You can ask Jesse directly since he's over on DB. However they do have two other shampoos that add gloss so I dont really thing this one does since it is a basic shampoo. However it rinses completely residue free just like btbm but is slicker.

Pour half an ounce of Optimum No Rinse into your bucket with whatever car wash you use. :props: You will be very happy with your results moving forward Im the MAN

Hmmm, don't know about the mud. might want to get a filter for that part.

If the local Walmart is selling 64oz Megs Gold Class for $4.00 each, is it a better deal than buying by the gallon of any of M62, D110, or D111.

I have never tried any of the washes available by the gallon- so I'm not really asking about converting cost per oz because I could have done that myself, I'm more asking about overall value based on how well they work.

By the way:
The ultimate wash is not a good product. The Gold Class is richer and better in every aspects. Much better to use the Gold Class then followed by a QD or QW rather than just the Ultimate wash.

I have both - and I really like them both (and I actually don't remember much of a difference in performance between them, but I will look closer next time I use each one).

I'm curious though - are you (or anyone else) saying the Ultimate Wash & Wax is not good, or just not worth the price difference?

How many of you guys worry about the gloss a wash adds? My concerns are lubricity and cleaning ability. I always QD as I dry.

I don't prefer gloss enhanced shampoo. Lubricity and cleaning ability are most important, like you said.

HaHa, Thanks I may have bheen exageratting about the mud but if you put the water in a bucket with a grit guard and let it settle you can see some grit and any paint it touches the waterspots look like white out on my black paint its soo bad.
