No. I went thru pilot training at what used to be Williams AFB in Phoenix and stayed there as a T-38 instructor. When Williams closed down, I transferred to Vance AFB in Enid, OK for another couple of years in the T-38. I had alot of friends who went thru Sheppard. It was a good deal for pilots because you were guaranteed to get a fighter when you graduated since it is where they train all of the NATO pilots.

What did you do while you were in?

Was not a fan of Sheppard...... although, oddly when I was there I experienced the most snow I have EVER seen and experienced a sand storm...... pretty wild experience since I was soaking wet at the pool and got hit by a huge nasty cloud of sand lol!

Im still in. Im a crew chief on C-130's right now. Im trying to switch to a flight job though. Phoenix huh, seems like they closed all the good bases.

Guess I oughta update my occupation... I no longer have one. After 24+ years sitting in a dark room like a mushroom playing with blips and having the gov't shoveling s*** on me I've undergone mandatory retirement at the ripe age of 56.

This newfound leisure time leads to lots of difficult decisions... go to the garage and polish something or take a nap? Decisions, decisions...

We made liner paper for just about everything... it was a real hard, blue collar job but I loved that job. I was actually the first disabled person they brought "into" the Mill. Usually people became disabled and then left the Mill. While I worked there at least one guy died in an accident and the average I think was a death every 2 years. Kind of a dangerous job if you don't follow the safety rules.

Left that job when Barry Meguiar called me and offered me a job as a writer for his company, I was driving my Milk Truck when he made that call, I was so surprised I had to pull over to focus on the call. I'll never forget it.

Update: Now retired from trucking and everyday is Saturday. Doing details in my shop at home and thinking of going mobil in the spring.
