You can buy it at the supermarket, there are several brands, but it doesn't compare to what they use at the local fish n chip shops. I don't know why, I can only imagine what they might be adding, but anyone who orders without adding chicken salt is an idiot.

I got some from my favourite place before they closed down. I use it only on special occasions.

Yeah we do.

Chicken salt, hard to explain till you've had it.

Hot Chips, like your fries, but much much better, especially with chicken salt.

Creaming Soda, fizzy soft drink, often red, but also brown or yellow in colour (color) and but can be called creamy soda or creme soda as well.

We also call the hood, the bonnet, and the trunk, the boot. There's also something about the windscreen/windshield but even I can't remember who uses which one now.

Some of our conservative politicians, similar to your Republicans, like to call themselves Liberals, but they're not.

Weather today, currently 32C but supposed to get to 34C. Summer started slow, but we're getting some real heat and humidity now.

Yes, we use metric. Much easier, water freezes at 0C and boils at 100C.

Not much chance of getting murdered, but definitely not zero.

Based on some reports, Ohio to New England is getting high acid rain levels from the East Palestine train disaster.

We're potentially in for 24" of snow over the next 2 1/2 days in Minneapolis.

Suppose to start this afternoon
4-7" overnight
A few more inches tomorrow
Another 7-13" tomorrow night
Finally wrapping up sometime on Thursday.

I caved today and just took Thursday off work (Hard to work from home when you fix cars for a living). The snow doesn't bother me in the least, it's the 40mph wind gusts that got me to Nope out. I drive about 35 miles from Andover to Eden Prairie. Lotta bridges in between...

Yeah, I also have no issues driving in the snow, I actually enjoy it as long as it's not blizzard conditions.
My problem is when there are other (bad) drivers on the road.

35 miles is a haul on a good day, let alone during a snow storm.
I'm about half that from Falcon Heights to Bloomington.
Morning drive for me is fine since I'm on the road by about 6am (or earlier if snow), but it's the drive home that blows going through Minneapolis.

I'm lucky that I can work from home, so I have that penciled in for Thursday.

There. Fixed that for ya.

Wouldn't be so bad if people actually had tires in decent shape, and could realize that you can read/judge the conditions and not just have to go either 20mph below or (try to go) 20mph above the speed limit.

I'm with you - I actually enjoy driving in the snow. Former auto crosser/track day driver, so I enjoy having the traction levels go down thus the fun levels go up. Quattro and snow tires add greatly to the fun. Though I am much more well behaved these days than I used to be...
