Which Chemical Guys product produces the highest gloss?

 Well, exactly. That's what I was referring before about Meguire's and Mothers. Why several tire shine products, etc.,? It seems like they all do it.
Mother's Foaming Wheel & Tire Cleaner and Mother's FX Wheel & Tire Cleaner are the EXACT same products, just different labels!

I kinda like the names and labels and whatnot, just so much to choose from I'm afraid to make the jump.

(Not to mention I have enough stuff to carry me for some time, anyways)

The phenomenon of badge engineering was put to me this way once in business school:

"when you can't push more thru the pipeline, widen it"

:iagree:killer combo from CG. The label spelling errors and Billy Mays style marketing don't bother me, so long as the product work and is priced better than the competitors.

Are we talking about Black Light only for black paint? What about medium or light colors?

That's exactly it. Their parent company wanted to get into the boutique/internet market, and CG was the vehicle.

Regardless, I still think CG puts out SOME very good products!!

Sure they do. It's just their company comes at the business from a completely different angle (completely marketing oriented) than say, Optimum, that's run by a chemist and focuses on the chemical engineering.

This has been asked about on waxforum on Mother's website. To their credit they were very up front about using the different lines to target different markets.

Hating or supporting a business and/or marketing model isn't as important to me as the products performing as advertised. There seems to be a consensus on this site that CG products do.

Now to find which one or combination produces the highest gloss.

We all realize that is what you are asking...and a valid question but with the proliferation of products, no one has tried them all ( or even a few) so there is no good answer.....the two I showed gloss as well as the 4 other washes I have from other mfrs...that's all I can tell you...

Yes CG's website and labeling can be confusing to say the least. Lots of similar products with lots of hype. But to give an opinion relative to the OP, Blacklight followed by HV7 is my choice on any color car....glossy and slick.

I have several CG products and those two are at the top of my list.

I agree wholeheartedly. Blacklight with V7 is my go to combo these days seconded only to Blackfire fire over ice.

thanks for the feedback. So, after the reviews and checking out other sites for a gloss enhancer I'm going for the black light and V7 combo. Tell me what you think of the following...

Every year (Summertime)
Wash & Clay bar (if needed)
CG - Black Light (2 coats, one by machine, one by hand)
CG - Pete's 53'- Black Pearl Signature Paste Wax (2 coats) - great reviews on the web on this wax.
CG - Hybrid V7 Gloss enhancer, sealant.

For weekly maintenance..
Wash and dry
Meguire's ultimate quick wax (great reviews all over the web and youtube. tried it. great stuff) - 1 coat
CG - Hybrid V7 gloss enhancer & sealant. (1 coat)

Daily maintenance
Meguire's quick detailer (1 coat)

Once every quarter (3 months), I'll add in 1 coat of black light after washing and drying on the above weekly maintenance. I hear the Black Light has light abrasives in it, and I don't think I want to use that every week. Every quarter should be okay.

On the weekly maintenance, do you think the Quik Wax followed by Hybrid V7 is a little overkill? Both being sprays, I don't think you'll experience much, if any, layering.

Just a thought, might save you some time!
