Which MF towels should I buy?

I consider myself a hardcore hobbyist. I'm actually narrowing down my arsenal to brands and specific products in order to reduce the number of bottles on the shelf and cart now. I'm mostly Optimum, Collinite and McKee's now. I do like Wolfgang Fuzion waxes and Megs Detailer bulk cleaners (glass, APC, degreaser, etc.) and I started using Super Clean after watching Dallas Scott's video for cleaning tires but I'm pretty limited in the core product areas now compared to before.

I just got some super clean for tires and engine bay cleaning too. Stuff looks like it works great.i Also got the idea from Dallas paint correction and auto detailing.

The PFM is hands down the most absorbent drying towel I have ever used. Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have other towels in your collection IMO.
I currently have Microfiber Madness DMC, PFM’s (big and small), Big Blue from AG, Gyeon silk (big and small), Twistress, Dry me a River, Cobra Guzzlers amongst others.
I buy a lot of towels from TRC and they are very high quality and last with proper care.

That is an insane amount of towels.

@slapjack : I use 3D Towel Kleen and MicroRestore. I use an older agitator washer just for my towels. I Wash on hot and do 2 rinse cycles, first rinse with vinegar and dry on low heat. It’s a little overkill on the double rinsing but I have towels in use that are over 5 years old. If you wanted to try some towels just PM me.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting those pics.

Brought my wife into the room, and said "SEE?? Now THIS guy has the problem, not ME."

Lol.

Very nice arsenal of product, fly.

Just looked at this towel kleen and some other brands and I wish I could comfortably use the 3d towel kleen in my HE washer because the price is good. Wolfgang seems to be the only one created for use in HE washers. Idk what makes a detergent safe or not safe to use in those machines but I don’t want to chance it since we just got it but the 3d stuff is $18 for 128 oz and the wg stuff is $18 for 16oz. That sucks!

I have some from TRC, and Microfiber Madness.

I'd have been fine with just using Megs Supreme Shines.

Dunno if it matters being a top loading HE machine but I 've used Towel Kleen in ours extensively with no issues.

Liquid Dawn dish soap in a dishwasher, well that's a different story...

For what it’s worth, I’ve been using 3d towel kleen with no issues in my HE washin machine.

Granted, my loads aren’t what I’d cal large (in relation to the washing machine capacity, anyway) and 2oz doesn’t cause any issues.

I have been using 3D Towel Kleen in my HE washer for over two years now, no issues at all. 1-1.5 ozs. per load.

How many towels do you wash with 2oz of Towel Kleen? Also, how much vinegar do you use for the rinse cycle?

Thanks!

Fightnews, there are specialists who can treat addictions. See one soon and save a lot of money on future microfiber towel purchases LOL!

I'm pretty sure the 3d says it's made for high efficiency washing right on the bottle. It t says not to use too much because of the limited rinsing

@fightnews : No I don’t Detail for a living. Anywhere from 4-6 vehicles a month.

Damn then thats really a lot of towels to have. I'm impressed! In those first 2 pics is that 2 seperate stacks in diffrent locations?

I currently have 2 of those big totes full and prob another 1/2 just as my backup collection. I'm definitely addicted to buying them. I buy some every couple of weeks even though I don't need them.

I always order double what I want and put half away for back up. I like my towels more then my car

Really depends on the type of towel that’s being washed. But for example if I’m washing Eagles, a large load with 2oz of Towel Kleen would be about 30 or so towels. 4oz white vinegar in first rinse cycle.

The first two pics are in my laundry room. I usually keep my totes with wash mitts and drying towels there for convenience.

Slapjack,

I get a lot of towels from TRC, and some from AG. I try to buy when on sale and have an assortment of different towels. I have only been doing this for a little over a year, and have already spent a ton of money on detailing supplies, and am only a hobby detailer. You learn a lot from this forum, but it's very easy to spend a lot to get where you're comfortable with the towels you need.

One of the best pieces of advice for me so far is when I was reading a thread where Mike Phillips said to buy wash mitts buy the ton. Whenever you place an order when there's a sale, buy a wash mitt. I have a lot and think you can't have to many. As far as towels go, there are so many different kinds that you have to experiment and see what works for you. I have found that besides AG, Larry Kosilla who has a great YouTube channel and his own line of products, which I can't mention here because AG doesn't sell them has great advice on microfiber towels in one of his videos. That being said, I think it's best to buy different towels when there are sales to see what you like best.

At this point I'll only buy edgeless towels. I think they are so much better. If you notice my whole cabinet of paint towels are all edgeless. Everything else has been demoted
