Hey everyone. I just got my porter cable 7346SP at Lowes (I had a store credit to use) and from what I understand it has basically the same specs as the 7424. I hope!

Now I am looking to buy a set of pads for it so I can put it to use! I want to be able to use the pads for both compounding, polishing, and waxing as well as simple AIO products. I have looked over the store and there are just so many options! :dunno:

Can anyone help out or throw out some suggestions for both multiple step correction and one step correction pads.

Thanks guys!

can't go wrong with LC 5.5 in flats. Get 2 each of orange, white and black to start

Thanks for your fast reply! Just a few questions:

1) A 5.5 inch pad would go with a 5 inch backing plate correct?
2) Which color LC pad would would recommend for an All in one cleaners such as Mothers California Gold Original Formula Carnauba Cleaner Wax?

1) correct
2) white (polishing) speed 5

use a putty knife to spread it on your pad

Thank you for that suggestion! I will definitely give them a try cause who doesn't like trying out new products!

I was surprised how easy it is to get 100% correction with these pads and one polish. Sure if you use a heavy compound like I did (SIP) it won't be as glossy, but it saves a few steps. I did SIP on the SurBuf, then chased it with Lime Prime on a black LC CCS pad...perfect.

I don't think he was suggesting surbufs for an aio, but for compounding...

What kind of car was this combo used on?

WOW what an awesome post! So much information! I am definitely going to have to set aside some time to research all of the different products and techniques.

Most of clients don't want an AIO. For those that do, I use Meg's D151

Do you mean that most clients are looking for more than just an AIO?

White pads work great with most AIOs. The perfect one stepper.
