Which Products do you wish you NEVER BOUGHT?

Turtle wax ICE...but it led me to find better products, then I found AG. So I guess it was worth it, plus i'm getting refunded from Turtlewax cause I emailed them my product review. :)

Thought it was funny to quote myself on this post I posted back in 07'. :)

Meguiar's #7- impossible to work with and looks like the inside of dog poop
NXT- A blotchy mess on paint. Durability is awful.
Meg's Ultimate Wax- Please refer to "NXT"
That's about it... :)

Agree on the NXT line.

I hated every product in that line.

I don't think I have ever used something that is less user friendly......god it's awful. I threw it in the garbage and someone put it back up on the shelf because it wasn't empty yet...

Never. :dunno:

I cannot comment on durability as I do not remember, but I remember it going on easy, wiping off easy, and looking amazing.

NXT spray wax and quik detailer are horrible.Meguiar's quik wax(red bottle) isn't very good either, they've changed the formula for 2012,but I'll stick to Ultimate,Gold class,or Pinnacle for my spray waxes.

I've found Carpro's Fogfight to be EXTREMELY disappointing! Actually it is totally worthless!

I agree, I expected better from CarPro. Given, it does work really well. My problem with it though is at night especially when lights shine through my windshield it makes it really hard to see. Its like a huge halo effect around all the lights. At least I won't crash from my windows fogging up! I'll crash because of the blinding light lol

I think the rest of my bottle is going to be for my bathroom mirror's

1. turtle wax compounds, waxes, polishes. all just dont work that great hard to remove, just all around pain to use, only have 2 tw products in my arsenal and thats the wet and black gel for people who like really shiny tires(need to find something else) and the chrome polish which i use rarely.

2. eagle one metal nano polish- stuff does not work good at all, its like working with half cured RTV silicone, dont even polish much at all. just not a good product

3. this one i dunno if i should get rid of my cat or my wash mit, the advance auto wool wash mit, worked fine, then i cleaned it and worked fine, cleaned again and started to come apart and then i noticed a hole. said oh well can use it on dirty, swirly horrible cars. so i was letting it dry and had it over the output of a small blower fan and the cat was in the room. i hear scratching and i forgot about the cat at this time i look down and cats in a pile of wool wearing a wool beard and all. all i could do was laugh.....so yeah advanced auto wash mit, dont last long, and attracts cats.

Cats and detailing all in one thread, love it. love 'em both!

Are you referring to the new Gold Class Carnauba + Quick Wax,if so how do you like it? I'm itching to try that one!

I have to agree with the Fogfight too. This is very disapointing. Hopefully CQuartz wont suck as bad.

Eagle One stuff sucks too. The interior products are way to greasy and once transfered to my white shirt. Ill never use nor buy their stuff ever again.

Turtle wax Ice and Zymol cleaner wax suck as well.

I agree as well.....it has been retired to the bathroom mirror. Oh and I bought two of them the day they arrived at AG!

well that's a disappointment. I just got some in on a order after seeing cee dog's review. I tried Fog Clear and that was complete junk. Now it sounds like I've got another bottle of nothing.

Turtle Wax Black Box - I bought a new Tacoma and thought this might be a good product (before I found AG).

Now I'm fighting swirls and scratches on a brand new 2012 Tacoma.

It's probably a good product for an old beat up black car that's been neglected, and the someone wants to make it decent without spending alot of money, but I really wish I had never even tried it.

By the way, the post also leads to "follow your gut". I kind of knew that I shouldn't, but I did it anyway.

^i agree on the black box stuff, car dealership i worked for had a very nice jaguar xjr with some awesome bbs wheels(factory) and trunk had a ton of scratches owner of the dealership came out and said i got something special for that, out came the black box, of course he said(dont use much its expensive). used it yeah it hid the scratches somewhat and everything was black and was a bear to use. wish i knew then what i know now! i now laugh at him saying 20$ for 3 products is expensive, to me thats cheap! glad i came here to AG!

Mothers Back to Black: Didn't work to well on the trim of our 98 Volvo. And what did works lasted only a few days.

Shamwow: bought a box with several sizes in it on sale at Pep Boys. When I saw it on TV I thought it would be great for drying the car. It's not the magical sponge it is made out to be.
