Which QD do you guys use?

So..I'm going to have to buy some FK425 and some OID huh...does anyone use DP Rinseless Wash & Gloss as a QD? I have been impressed with DP thus far and would like a versatile product that can be diluted for other things ( I do have ONR and love it, but like trying different things)

They do make a Quick Detail Version, kinda like Aquawax light its called Fast/Clean and I prefer it.

Over Mothers Showtime? That's hard to believe!

I like using straight 91% IPA, man does it leave a clean surface!

Ok not really! I like Finish Kare #425, Pinnacle Crystal Mist, and Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer (freakin' slick stuff, excellent clay lube). That's one thing that I lack, a variety of qd's. I have Meg's UQD, Mothers Showtime Instant Detailer, SCG Speed Demon, Griot's Speed Shine, Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz, Crystal Mist, FK 425, and recently gave up Dodo Red Mist.

I like FK 425 for drying. I just tried PB's Spray and Gloss in the hot sun to remove some light dust, it was great, streak free and glossy.

How are you lacking a variety of QD's when you list like seven that you currently have? I guess a good variety is more like fifteen?:dblthumb2:

I'm a detail product "junkie" and AG has my fix! :help::laughing: There will be more added after next week...

You prefer the Duragloss over the fk425?

No .. No ... No , I like Fast/Clean versus Aquawax if I personally had to choose between the two. I much prefer 425 / 146 / Showtime and Optimum however.

Right now it's Meg's QD in the maroon bottle, but I'm hoping that will change when I get my ONR and dilute down. I also got a sample of FK 425 in my order, so I'll test that out too.

I would think ANY QD is going to streak in hot sun, or on hot paint?

:iagree: IF it is allowed to dry on the paint (which normally happens in the hot sun very quickly.

I use ONR at the moment, but have used Meguiar's Quik Detailer (nothing special), Mothers Showtime Detailer (smelled great, pretty good detailer), and Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Detailer (pretty good stuff, not good enough for the price).

I have yet to find anything as good as ONR for my QD needs, but will be trying FK 425, OID, and DP RW&G hopefully soon.

FK425 and i need to order another gallon very soon.

I have been using DP Final Gloss and I would like to try a new QD, so I would like to know what you guys are using.

Meg's Ultimate Quick Detailer, Wizard's Mist and Shine, or PDP Body Gloss.

Wizard's is by far the smoothest, most streak-free and brilliant results QD I have ever used, followed by the tried and true easily available Meg's flagship QD. PDP is an Ohio based detail-chemical manufacturer, and Body Gloss is their newest offering, replacing Quick Spiff as their top of the line QD, it works wonders in general paint care and between washes maintenance - but smears windows even though the website claims it can be used on glass.

I know ONR is supposed to be reduced or 'cut' with water for different uses and applications - but what would the disadvantage be (aside from using product much faster) with regard to using it full strength for Quick Detailing or washing?

I know too much lubricant while claying can impede the optimal results, but when QDing or especially washing, I would think a purer product with more lubricity would result in a more reflective shine all while reducing the risk of marring and scratching (ESPECIALLY) when using minimal/no water?

DD, Now that you got that new car you should take a picture of it and replace your avatar!

HA - TRUE!! But I need to detail it first ;) (OH, and of course park it somewhere rustic for that added touch)

I actually forgot about the avatar, on my user Settings, I have all avatars blocked, because I view this forum a lot at work, and I don't want it to look obviously non-work related ;)
