Who uses an undercarriage spray when detailing SUV's...?

I've just been using whatever OTC product I have on hand, right now it's Megs Hot Shine tire spray. I just spray it in the wheel wells and walk away. Somehow I had failed to figure out that a simple spray down in the wells works miracles, and had not been doing anything to the wells. I think it was Jenn's thread "Wheel wells are going to be the death of me" that turned on the light in my head. :xyxthumbs:

Fortunately wheel wells aren't still the death of me. Between the suggestion of the toilet brush and either ASD or Megs tire shine, they have been easy as pie.

My truck has a smooth plastic inner fenders, I use Turtle Wax 2001 Super Protectant with a foam pad. Does a good job.

like gg undercarriage but still using up some bare bones. most of my customers have no idea i even did this for them but i feel good when the cars go back to their homes with it done

I have some BB which I will be using next after the Griots. Then I will see which I like the best

Chemical Guys - "Bare Bones" is very good ! I have just ordered another four gallons. We have used it for years.

Is there one you can put on while they are still damp from washing...maybe just after blow-dry?

So what's the difference between meguiars silicone free dressing, water based dressing and all season dressing. I've seen lots mention using asd in this thread it's obviously for exterior dressing.

I use hyper dressing diluted 2:1 on wheel wells and like the results.

But I still don't see what the difference between sfd and wbd are. Wouldn't water based be silicone free already?

that does seem a little misleading i can see were ur coming from..i dont use them so sorry i cant help maybe someone can chim in

I like cheap aerosol sprays for those areas, as much as Griots Undercarriage Spray. CG made a nice one called Fade to Black but I can get stuff like Stoners More Shine cheaper locally at Wallyworld.
I thought it was just me. I used Groit's,Adams, & C guys undercarriage sprays. They all smell good. In my pinion the Bare Bones last the longest, with the best results. But as Mike said the cheaper sprays at Wallyworld work just as well! :iagree:

no need to have 2 different dressing. just buy a gallon of silicone dressing and use this for undercarriage, wheel well, tires and some use it for engine ( but I don't like to use it for engine but somes does..)

I like to use a water-based trim & tire dressing on wheel wells. A trim dressing bonds nicely to the plastic wheel wells, as well as suspension components.

I only apply the dressing via a cotton applicator pad or a foam dressing applicator. While a silicone-based aerosol spray would prevent any excess from dripping down, a water-based dressing makes the dressed surface slippery and harder for dirt to stick. Silicone typically (but not always) makes the surface greasy and sticky which could cause dirty wheel wells in just a few days. No point to shiny wheel wells if tons of dirt is hiding it all. :props:
