Who's using apc as wheel cleaners?

For prepping wheels I use WG Uber, Sonax, Ironx, or Trix to ensure the removal of Iron particles.

For maintenance cleaning I use mild shampoo and MF/Brushes.

i picked up a gallon to test! lol the price was right

duragloss 822 anyone?

got that a couple years ago for free. it's slightly acidic from what i can remember. worked like a weak acidic cleaner does...decent. only acidic stuff i have in my arsenal is Megs Wheel Brightener at a relatively weak dilution, but i rarely ever use it unless i have some car that is utterly neglected and the wheels aren't coming off.

and if you are treating Opti-Coated wheels forget any of that acidic stuff.

I guess I'm the exception. I love CG Grime Reaper. I use it full strength on my wheels and tires. I typically give them a quick soak with CG GR, hit them with a brush, and rinse. But I don't let it dwell for very long at all.

I've had great results with it.

Keep in mind that I have a tacoma with painted wheels and tire sidewalls are pretty tall.

Now, if I was rollin on dubs, I probably wouldn't go this route.

APCs are fundamentally very similar to the group of cleaners known as non-acid wheel cleaners. In practice, APCs will tend to be less strong than the wheel cleaners. Many of the latter will be highly irritant and even corrosive - I have yet to find anyone with adequately low care for their customers to sell a corrosive APC!

So I would have no concern at all using an APC on wheels. I would have considerable concern trying to use a wheel product as an APC!

I've used diluted cg grime reaper on all wheel types with great results for quite some time now with no negative effects.
