Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant

Ok cool ill keep that in mind. What about putting something on it BEFORE the WGDGPS...like a Megs #7 glaze, has anyone tried something like that...or is it a case of the same thing...it doesnt really change the look that much

They say that sealants like a clean surface so for longevity glazes are a no-no.

However Klasse sealants are said to be an exception. I usually do put KAIO and then a couple coats of KSG on before the WG. They look great together and last a long time.
Then I watch as each time I wash it the deep crystalline look of WG slowly gives way to the glassyness or "candy coating" of KSG. Reflections actually become sharper as you wash away the WG (which is kind of weird), but they're less deep.

Sounds nice...I wonder sometiems how much of this stuff is in our head haha...like the difference in reflections etc...Dont get me wrong Im the exact same way...i just know i'm a little weird is all...but see now that i've read that idea im tempted to try it...thanks a lot man:dblthumb2:

Oh you'll definitely see the difference btwn KSG and WGDGPS. I was a little bummed at first because the WG dulled the crisp reflections of the KSG, after I had applied multiple coats of Klasse and watched them come out (Three coats is needed for the full effect of KSG). But then I realized that the WG is supposed to mimic carnuba wax which also does this (I had tried P21s Carnuba once before and saw the same thing), but it creates much more depth (hence the name).
So when I came out the next day (12 hrs later) after it had cured and saw the amazing shine, that's not there at first, I totally knew why this effect was a good thing. :props:

And then as it goes away over time you get that other kind of shine from the Klasse, which is also pretty damn good too.

Cool deal. Any pics :):Picture:

Another scenario: I just applied WGDGPS, rain coming in tonite, so tomorrow, do I re-apply WGDGPS or do I need to remove whats left of the first coat with say, a polish or something else THEN re-apply the sealant?
Thanks

Sorry guys no pics at this time. But it would be really hard to capture I would think. It's two very nice but slightly different shines that turn from one to the other over time. You could do say half the door in KSG and the other half in KSG plus WGDGPS and compare the two yourself. Maybe at the next waxing I could do that - before the WG goes on top I could do half the hood or something and take a pic. But that won't be till spring. I'm garaged, and only drive it a few times a week in the winter, so 5 layers of sealant lasts a looong time. :xyxthumbs:

mtnbiker, I'm no detailer but I know of no reason you couldn't just reapply. The sealant sticks both to paint and to itself, so...

Oh and one last thing... DON'T wash you applicator or buffing towel with your other micro's. You may not be able to get the sealant out of them all. This is what I'm going through right now (see my thread in the "ask the expert" board) and after 6 or 7 soaks/washes in 5 different kinds of cleaners I've only been able to salvage half of my towels. The rest still repel water.

I would just reapply, you can remove whats left but you don't need to.

Sealants need a clean dry oil free surface. So oil based glazes (like #7, Moose glaze) will hinder the bonding needed. Acrylic based sealants (Danase, Wet Glaze 2.0, ect, ect)

Interesting. I have a crazy idea on my mind.... I already put 3 coats of Klasse (Silver MBenz) and the results are amazing. When i placed my first order in Autogeek i was also attracted by the excelent reviews of Liquid Glass and bought a can of it.

The crazy idea is to put Liquid Glass or Wolfgang Sealant over Klasse... Any thoughts about the Liquid Glass? I made some tests and Klasse beads watter so so, not very good... but Liquid Glass sort of spits the watter out of any surface it is applied on.

Wolgang in contrast is watter based too so there is no problem in putting it over Klasse.

I guess LIquid Glass is oil based, any idea if it will strip the coats of Klasse? Will it bond or stick to Klasse? I just want watter to sheet off my paint and Liquid Glass trully does the job!

Thanks
