Women suing Honda for bad gas mileage..

I think she has about as good a chance of winning that case as I do winning the lottery.

Personally I feel EPA ratings should be based on how real people drive. So I get why she is angry. But she really Doesn't have a case...

I hope Honda keeps her in courts forever. I personally think the only reason she sued was that she sees deep pockets and does not care one way or the other about the actual gas mileage.

i should sue honda for getting 14-16 mpg max in 2008 honda accord lx!!!!!! lol i have no idea how i never get more than 220-260 miles per tank in my car filling up 17 gallons

Maybe dont drive so aggressively? My CR-V is rated at 22/28 and Ive gotten 26.5mpg over the last 10k miles by limiting my speed to 5mph over the limit. I routinely get 450 miles per tank.

Not meant to sound offensive - if you drive reasonably maybe it is the car. Its just everywhere I go I see people accelerating really fast, and then I pass them because then they are driving slow a few miles later, and then they jump on the gas again really hard, then I catch them a few miles later, all while going the exact same speed. All they are doing is wasting gas and putting wear on their brakes, but Id say 75% of the drivers drive that way for some reason.

While our society is a very judicious one, from the little I read about this lady IMO she had an honest gripe.

Not apples to apples

Wasn't doing an apples to apples, just stating how sue happy everyone has become and gave an example of something that I felt was absolutely absurd, like someone referenced the McDonalds lady with the cup of coffee.

Nowadays, if you look at someone wrong, there is a chance your going to be going to court in the near future. What happen to the days where everyone wasn't so concerned about how to get a quick buck? At this point in time, people don't care about the greater good of society, everyone is just worried about me me me and how can I screw the next person out of some money?

I am pretty upset about her winning this case. A recent news report did a small interview with another Civic Hybrid owner and he said he will be bringing Honda to court as well. But Honda came back and said, “(Honda) will be allowed to bring in its army of lawyers to try to overturn any small-claims judgment.” She has her own website about how to bring Honda to small claims court. Not trying to bash on Honda, but if you get such bad gas mileage realize that a Honda Hybrid isn't for you. Get a all gas car and deal with the 30MPG lots of people do.

I hate seeing car companies being sued for these stupid reasons, do you think that is helping the economy at all? Imagine thousands of Civic Hybrid owners suing Honda and get thousands of dollars because of it. There goes millions of dollars down the drain for Honda. And I am sure that this women will keep on driving her car and continue to get her 30 MPG. On her site, one person states that when their tires are properly inflated and you driving reasonably, they get 45 MPG. But when they drive aggressively, they can barely get 30 MPG. Can't say that this women drives like that, but it still shows that she definitely isn't driving as reasonably as she could be.

I agree with you. I hate stupid frivolous lawsuits.

I dont see why she is suing honda. If she really wants to sue someone sue the EPA or whatever agency it is that makes up the mileage numbers.

Ill bet you she drives like an idiot. Accelerates quickly to the next light. Brakes on the freeway. Tailgates etc. Honda should counter sue her and ruin her life.

She should be going after the EPA. Honda did state that they have to put the EPA's estimates for gas mileage. I just hope this doesn't escalate to the point where other people start suing their car's manufacturer(Any that produce hybrid vehicles). We are slowly moving towards full electric vehicles. So people should get use to these kind of situations.
