First off, Thank you Justin!

I read something that he said a few days ago, and while polishing my mom's car (2002 Toyota Camry), I remembered it and decided to try it.

He said that a lot of the times when polishing with a yellow cutting pad, he could go straight to a LSP.

Here's what I did. I would polish an area with XMT #3 and yellow pad for about 3-4 min. I now can do an entire panel (door, trunk, fender) and it goes a little faster. I break up the hood into 2-3 sections for polishing.

So I would polish an area for about 3-4 minutes on speed 6. Right before it would start dusting, I would lower the speed to about 4.5/5 and use no pressure. I just let the weight of the PC do the work and go over the entire section again using the regular polishing speed. And that's it! It worked very very well for me and I can see how it can really speed things up.

Looks nice! I've been doing this long before coming aboard here.. I've been to some "detail" shows/classes in the past.

OC needs more working time than 3-4 minutes, just a heads up ;)

Yea, usually XMT does as well. I probably work with the polish for about 6 min total.

Cool bud. Good luck with OC, and remember.... post pics!!

Looks great im going to have to try that, thats silver right, how far do you have that light away from the paint and at ehat angle?
Thanks
Ryan

Good job, the before and after are amazing aren't they.

I too have tried what Justin recommended and yup it tottally works. Looking forward on seeign the rest of the vehicle. That paint is sure POPING!!

It was actually on a light blue color. The light was about 6 feet away. I found this to be the best distance with a single halogen light to see swirls and such.

the only difference between the two pictures was polishing w/ yellow pad/XMT 3. No LSP was on yet.

I just finished buffing off DG 105 an hour ago after an hour of flashing. I'm gonna take a few pics.

Saw that at a Meguiars stand once. he used a rotary, some presure at first, then let it just slide over the panel, and............voila.......Bling bling

Here's some pics. Polished with yellow pad/XMT 3 at speed 6. Then dropped it too speed 5 and polished for 1/2 more min.

Topped with DG #105

Wow dud good pictures and the reflection is off the hook!!!

Wow, you did a good job...so all you did was XMT#3 with yellow pad? Which pad, Edge 2K or Lakecountry?

So you reduce the speed right as it starts to dust? How long do you work it with the lower speed?

Also, what is OC?

I usually just did 1 pass with the PC after I lowered the speed. Working the larger panels, I say about 1-2 minutes I used the PC on speed 4.5/5.

OC = Optimum Compound

Well the car saw some rain today after 20 hours of curing.

I'm pretty damn impressed overall with this DG 105. Great slick look, AWESOME beading, and now I'm just going to wait to see what durability is like.

I used XMT #3 not OC. Then topped with #105.
