I have owned a Bosch for many years and has served me well. I am not a pro so it does not get daily use but it still has been used extensively for a DIYer. At the time of my purchase I was also considering the Skil saw as well. Between the two, I was going to purchase an excellent saw either way and so will you with the recommendations listed in this thread.
We have Milwaukee saws but I just don't like them, just seem to rev slow and very hard to rip straight. IMHOhave heard the same about the ridgid. Heard the makita does have low maintenance. Teacher has two mag 77s which have been running for 20 years with cord replacements. You hear anything about the milwaukee?
Bosch jig saws are the toughest, smoothest and most reliable.Never used a Bosch rotory, But I have had a Bosch jig saw (barrel grip) for about 21 years now. It sees some serious use. And other than 2 shoe swaps and and a few cord replacements, it has actually been the most durable power tool I have ever owned.
