Was doing a rinseless wash today and noticed these on both sides. Would you have the dealer fix? Wait? I'm a little worried that if they try to fix it, they will mess it up more or screw something else up.

IMO:
Having the Dealership to document these
defects is the first step toward getting them
satisfactorily corrected.

But...that doesn't necessarily mean you
gotta get them fixed by their paint & body
shop crew.

Let them know that:
Negotiations are now open.

{Thinking out loud:
Is there a Chevy "satisfaction-rep"
that posts over on the CF?)

Bob

First show it to them, so that it is documented. There are no signs of impact, and it's occurring in the same spot on both sides. I'm betting there may have been a previous repair there, before you took delivery of the car. If the dealership uses the term 'touch up'...it's on

Will definitely get it documented. There is one on the SF board. And I posted it there as well.

This is on the front quarter vent areas (both), the way the vents flex, I wonder if this might not be a somewhat common problem.

Certainly looks like a structural defect maybe based on local temperature fluctuations?

IMO

Not so isolated as I figured.........

From a vette forum:

Mine are the same way. I have seen other guys on here with the same problem. I was going to take it to dealer but I'm afraid to let them paint it. Please let me know what they tell you.. If you open the back hatch of your car is there paint rubbing off there to?? It seems to be only on the white cars. I have owned many new cars and I have to say that this has been the worst for paint issues.

Haven't really had temp fluctuations yet. It's just hot as............

That really stinks, there's no turning back now.My father in law has a 03 50 th anniversary bought it brandnew and the drivers door delaminated from the seam.Till this day never got it fixed it has 8000 mi.

oh dam, yea, 100% take that BS in. I'm sure they have a qualified shop to handle it. Don't be afraid to refuse it if you're not happy after it's done.

yep

problem is, sometimes problems don't show right up.

Most body shops guarantee work for as long as you own the car.

Is this an early C7?
Don't really understand the reasoning
behind your above question...

But all model years of the C7 have the
identical Chevrolet Complete Care
Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty Protection
for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever
comes first...which includes coverage for,
among other items:

any vehicle defect repairs

Also:
There is the below listed ANTI-CORROSION
provision which, I suppose, GM is proud to
offer to C7 Corvette owners/leasees:

"GM vehicles are designed and built to
resist corrosion. However, all body and
sheet metal components are warranted
against rust-through corrosion for 6 years
or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first".

Hmmmmmmm

If I see rust there, I will demand a buy back.......

Oh that sux Ron.

Nothing you can do but let them fix it and make them fix it right. It's a brand new car - you can't just leave it to get worse.

Or...

Trade it in for a new M3 ;)

Hopefully they just handle it to your liking and don't try to say "you must have damaged it"
