Wow - this is pricey!

You're right Claudio and thank you for your kind words. Most detailers know the kind of work they are capable of doing, so they're comfortable using products that are at their level. That is what I love about this industry there's room for everyone, what's even better is with each individual's opinion sparks conversations and ideas that keep forums like this alive. But contempt prior to investigation has never been a rule I have lived by. And once again thank you to everybody for your overwhelming support take care.

I don't plan on paying up for this product but, I really want to try it. Now everybody please keep an open mind. Now think about this who here owns 1 or more jars of Souvern, Fuzion or Supernatural??? I really want to try these and maybe one day I will BUT, I still feel the same way about the prices of these waxes as I and others are feeling about Solution Finish Restorer. So please keep your minds open about this product because who knows you might try this product down the road and never say never.

I've been using Solution Finish for a couple of months now and it is probably the best product I have tripped across in years. The stuff lasts forever, is real easy to apply and there is no need for masking.

If you want to make fast and (relatively) easy money, just take a trip to your local Chevy Dealer, find a used Avalanche (good chance the plastic is faded) and do a section with Solution Finish. Once the service manager sees the results, you can expect multiple call backs as customers bring them in for servicing - no advertising costs, no wasted time, no problems. Your cost of $125 will pay itself back multiple times over and quickly - mine certainly has.

You need to be prepared to spend money on the best products if you want to make money. I understand if some people are afraid to do that - however they are being left behind by those who invest in good products.

Take a look at the attached picture - 1993 Land Rover. I had put hours into bringing the paint back to life - if i didn't restore the plastic trim, it was never going to look right. Used Solution Finish on the bumpers, mirrors etc. Result? The owner couldn't believe his eyes - he was amazed that his old Land Rover now looked like an (almost) new car.

Try it or not - your choice. I've found it has worked wonders for me.

Wow, lots of new members posting only about this product... hmmm...

I'm going to do a full review on this product within the next couple weeks. I'm looking forward to testing this myself! :buffing:

Personally I like to reserve judgment until I've used a product (although as human nature goes that is sometimes difficult)

I'll be looking forward to your review and thoughts, Corey!

Can't wait to see your review. I said I was going to order it next time but I forgot to put it in my cart on the last order. If it works well and lasts I think it could be worth it

I restore plastic trim for a living. I saw Solution Finish at SEMA. I thought it was expensive too and was very skeptical. This stuff cost 3 times more than the product I was using at the time. I bought 1 oz. and here are my findings. It goes more than twice as far as my previous product and I could apply it in about half the time. With my previous product I had to mask the area, apply the product, remove the masking and then clean the area. If I happened to get any on unwanted surface it took a long time to remove it. Solution Finish was a breeze to apply. No masking and very quick and easy clean-up. I love it. The labor savings was dramatic and I was able to increase my sales by over 40%.

No! I am glad most of you don't believe me. I don't want the competition.

You responded, to wit:

I'll respond by saying:
That wasn't very nice of you, IMO

Furthermore, you stated:

Idon't want the competition.

My response, to the above statement of yours, will be phrased in the form of a question:

Does your name rhyme with Ponziak?

I'm quite sure you won't have to "look it up"!

Sincerely,

canemustang, i wanted to clear up a few things for you guys about this product. i was introduced to it and have been using it since early december. first of all the 30.00 oz. is in fact enough to do three avalanches complete and those are 60-70% plastic exterior. so if you break that down its about 10.00 each to do a ton of plastic! i would imagine you could easily do 6-8 regular cars from front to back. also you can do everything with it that is plastic, singe stage black (semi-gloss, flat or semi-black) or powder coated, including hithces, grille guards, tool boxes and even bedliners that have faded. i opened a 12 oz. bottle in december and i have demo'd easily several pieces on 30-40 cars and a few completes and i still have well over half of the bottle left. the prep is easy, just wipe everything down with alcohol (which gives you a real picture of what condition the plastic is really in) and that also etches the plastic at the same time. i have tried all of the different alcohols up to and including the one we use in the refinishing industry to remove mold release agent from new factory bumpers it is by far the best. you can use denatured alcohol, isopropyl 91 or 70% and this is optional but certainly produces the best results. there are a lot of products to enhance the appearance of plastic but i assure you this is a horse of a different color! all of these other products out there are topical, mostly silicone based that in effect destroy the surface of the plastic (silicone ceates a gas on top of the surface) it actually breaks down the surface of plastic prematurely and once the oxidation sets in it becomes a self perpetuating problem. Solution Finish penetrates the plastic and goes into even this damaged plastic and restore to the surface with the carbon toner that was used in the raw plastic to mold the piece black. it is a propietary mixture of this carbon toner, solvents and oil that do this work, and when the restoration process is complete you essentially have an out of the mold finish back to the surface of the plastic. i am really having to hunt to find something it doesn't work on! from grilles, cowls, roof racks, running boards, hatchback glass hinge covers, wiper arms, washer nozzles and all plastic moldings, bumpers, door pillar tapes textured or smooth, belt moldings some glass runs, mirrors, mud guards, engine undercovers you name it this stuff does just about all of it. i have talked with the owners of the company and i assure you #1 - there isn't another product on the market that is even remotely like it and #2 if you make the 30.00 investment you to will bcome an absolute believer. to be honest with you i feel like it is an incredible value. i have been in the autobody industry for coming up on 30 years and i have never seen anything like this. i spent 12 of those years in in so-cal working in the luxury car collision field and if you have been there i think would have to agree it is as close to the epi-center of the car culture. if you are feeling anxious about a 30.00 invesment i recommend you get over it and give it a try, i don't think for one minute you'll ever be sorry you did. hit me back when you have done so. finaddict

Hi finaddict

I'm not canemustang, rather one of the: "you guys".

I, too, enjoy the anonymity forums, such as the AGO Forum, provides.
But, there are AGO Forum members that have actually:
-Seen and talked to me in person.
-Observed and formed opinions regarding my "bodies-of-work".

Notwithstanding the ownership that Mr. Rich Evans has in the Solution Finish product, his name, reputation, and bodies-of-work in car-culture centers is well-known, publicized, and cannot be disputed.

However, your stated "claims to fame", so far, have yet to be documented.
Once, and perhaps if, that documentation (real-world-name, car-culture epicenter's name/location, for example) has been made public, your above posting may take-on a more reasonable, feasible endorsement for the Solution Finish product.

Being that you stated: "i have been in the autobody industry for coming up on 30 years"...probably puts you in the age 50+ bracket...same as me.
(At this stage (age) of my life, it would be more than welcome to find products that will perform as you allege...fewer times around a vehicle, so to speak)

But since I'm on a fixed-income, I would be more than overjoyed to find such products, if they exist, at more affordable prices.

Not every vehicle owner is a target for "up-sells"...No matter the amount of concerted effort, or beseeching from a Detailer is presented to a customer/client.
Most detailing supplies do have a shelf-life expectancy.

Just my opinions...

Best Regards,

Bob

I apologize and you are right. I did not intend this to be mean spirited and I was not trying to offend anyone. I was only trying to refer to the "Closed Minded" nature of the following statement:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. That is one thing that makes this country so great, IMO. I did not think it was very objective to make such a statement without even trying the product. I don’t normally get involved but I felt compelled due to the fact that I use the product every day.

WOW! Your shop and work is very impressive. All I was trying to say is don't poo poo this product for those who can benefit from it. You gave feedback on a product that you have not even tried. That's like me saying "You are a SUCKER if you get your car detailed by Big A Detailing because he knows nothing about paint correction, leaves the windows dirty and didn't even vacuum my truck. What a waste of money" When I have never had my car detailed by you (Big A Detailing).

On another note: People don't realize how much work goes into a detail, especially if they need multi-step paint correction and their interior is trashed.
