D151 is such a nice product. I'm excited to get some more experience with XMT 360. I think with a little more tweaking of my technique with the MF/XMT combo I can get the same level of correction as with D151... Then, all that is in question is the stand alone durability of each product.
Larry, shoot me a PM. I am going to have to re-order another gallon of D151 soon anyway...

A buddy of mine just got a "slightly" used Audi and the first thing he did was call me and ask "Nick, this car needs your help, what can you do?"
He came over a few days later and we busted out a full detail. While he was working on the interior I had the opportunity to test the remainder of my sample of XMT 360 against D151 in a head-to-head paint correction face off!!!
Of course my camera died after I had everything ready to go... So, instead I made this movie for you guys. I hope you find it interesting and informative. If you don't like the music just turn the volume down. This is what I listen to when I detail and I don't care if you don't like it, haha.

Great vid!
So 3 passes with the XMT did not quite achieve the same level of correction as 2 passes with D151.
Would have been interesting to do the same number of passes with each, for a true "apples for apples" comparison, but still it's pretty clear which one is the winner in this case.

I thought about doing the same number of passes with each product but I changed my mind because I didn't think it would be a fair comparison. Since XMT uses DAT I wanted to make sure and at least use it how it was meant to be used which necessitated a little more working time to break down the abrasives.
One thing is for sure... they both did an AMAZING job of reviving this HAMMERED paint.
In terms of maximizing profits and minimizing time spent on polishing I'd say there is certainly a clear winner between these two. *cough* *cough* D151 *ahem* *cough*. I will say, though, that both D151 & XMT 360 still appear to be beading on the hood. The protection is obviously wearing out but they are both hanging in there.
That's quite impressive. For paints that aren't badly swirled out like that is the first very heavy slow pass needed? I feel like that would make the one step take a long time to complete if repeated on the entire car.

Thanks! The effectiveness of these two products never cease to amaze me.
This car was particularly jacked. The hood (shown in video) was the worst too. Most DD's will not require that level of intensive polishing to get the same results. I was able to move quicker on the side panels as they weren't so bad. This was an Audi wagon and took about 3 hours to polish. I was also working D151 to it's limit. For an AIO (my "express package") I would normally be promising only slight defect removal and aiming to spend less than 1-2 hours total polishing time (including taping trim, etc.).
Sounds like you've gotten d151 down pretty good! Nice work

It has certainly become my unexpected go-to AIO... especially on all the beat up DD's I have had recently. Once I started messing with it with the MF pads I fell in love.

Here is my hood @ day 45...
Left side XMT 360, ride side D151 PRC:
The last wash I almost topped the hood with some D156 out of habbit... I had the bottle in my hand and had to resist... FOR SCIENCE! Both sides are starting to show flatter beading performance. Sheeting is also terribly slow on both sides now.
I plan on updating this thread until one side obviously fails compared to the other. I was thinking D151 would have died by now but it's hanging in there. At this point it's still anybody's game!

In a few days it will be exactly 4 months since each product was applied to the hood of my truck. Here is another update... and let me just say: I am VERY impressed with both of these products thus far. I'll let the pics do the talking. The truck has been washed with Hyper Wash via foam gun and 2BM about once a week or sometimes every other week.
XMT 360 topped with NOTHING @ 4 months.
D151 topped with NOTHING @ 4 months.
As you can see XMT is crushing D151 in the beading department; however, D151 still sheds water better when using the flood to dry method. All in all I believe these are 2 very capable all-in-one (AIO) type products that do just fine on their own with no other LSP required for decent longevity.

Outside 24/7 in Oregon. Didn't let either of them haze. Just polished and wiped residue.
Now that's impressive.
