Yeah my order has arrive , but.........

I also live in Canada and what your reading on the customs fourm as cleaning is what "they" as in Canada Customs class is the contents as for value and for taxes. My last two orders in Feb. came as 1st Auto parts and the 2nd one came classed as cleaning supplies. Because Autogeek uses Priority mail service the packages are 99.999% of the time going to be charged sales tax entering Canada and also a Canada Customs handling fee rought $5 to $10. There in nothing that can be done about it as it's the law. Because of the weight and contents it can not be shipped 1st class mail, which has no coverage and 90% goes thru with out having to pay anythnig extra on it.

Now if you had to go and pick that up why did not you not refuse it ? I always inspect the boxes when the come in and if any serious damage on the box I refuse it and make them return it to sender because of damage durning shipping. Also make sure you contact the sender to let them know that damage happened durning shipping and you refuse the package on deliver. This way the sender ( Autogeek ) can claim the insurance that was issued on the box. When you accept the box like that your taking responsablity that all the contents are in perfect condition and no damage had happened durning shipping. Now Autogeek could have said " you signed for it like that, sorry there is nothing we can do", but because they have such awesome customer service they fixed everything for you. If you look on the bottom of the customs fourm your holding up you can see the box that says refused at deliver or somthing along that line, (I'm at work and don't have one infront of me).

I have had the same problem happen to me before and refused it right at the front door step because of the damage. Just remember next time to do that this way Autogeek can go after USPS for it. Also it saves you any time and hassles :xyxthumbs:

To add to the above never have anything shipped to Canada via UPS,Fed Ex, or any other courier service. They're known to tack on brokerage fees that are around 1/2 the cost of the package then tack on sales taxes op top of that. I've had $200 packages show up with $100 in brokerage fees and taxes with UPS. USPS is the cheapest and best to ship anything to Canada with.

First ,I received the package in a rush so i didn`t have time to check everything, because i have to go to school.Second, I was excited because to package finally arrived, so i paid for the duties before i noticed that they charged me for 50$ cleaning or help me to repackage. In my first 2 order, the Description said on the postal import form is Auto part but this time is cleaning and preparations. Next time i will check everything before i take the package. Thank you for your advise. I didn`t know that i can refuse it. :props:

I know what you mean, everytime I get an Autogeek order I'm very happy it arrived. Infact I have one that will arrive tomorrow, just checked the tracking info out. But yes you can always refuse a package if it arrives damaged they way yours does. This put the ownis back on the shipping service who damaged it. You just have to make sure you contact the seller right away to let them know you refuse a package because it arrived damged durning shipping. It's alittle tid bit I found out a few years back from a shipper. So far knock on wood every order I have got from the Geek has arrived with no damage to the box at all and full of "popcorn" pellets. Glad to know everything worked out with you and Autogeek. You can never go wrong with them.
