You ever want to help OTC shoppers?

Most people at Wal-Mart or Target aren't there just for the auto section. The Target by me has the worst selection and prices of car care products. I have chimed in a few times trying to help people out, only to get funny looks.
 
The local Advanced Auto or it may be Autozone, I get them mixed up started carrying Griots Garage line. I'd imagine most of the counter people there don't know how to help or sell that. They do have a nice display with a how to book chained to the display. In the month or so that it's been there I haven't seen much product move. If people are price conscious they're not going to spring for their product or MF rags.
 
I tell lots of people about pro products and the difference between them and OTC. Surprisingly, very few people listen.
 
I have not but heard some interesting discussions especially from a "trained" counter guy. This guy had a hammered Dakota and getting not very good advice on how to remove the swirls. It was all generic products by hand - no real abrasive polishes.
 
I thought I was the only one guilty of this. Everytime I am in Walmart in the car care section I can't help but to ask people project they are working on and what they are trying to achieve. Most people do feel lost with products and explaining them to some people doesn't always make it easier. Had one gentleman take everything out of his cart and say he was just gonna call me, but he never did.
It is fun to try and help people in person instead of always online.:)

I do it all the time.

Does not hurt, and I try to help others when I can.

BTW I agree 100% with bobbyg. lol
