You get what you pay for, One of the worst cars I've done!

That has got to be one of the worst before and best afters I have ever seen.:xyxthumbs:
I agree, It was threads like this one that got me hooked on detailing in the first place. Outstanding work and great photos Eric.:dblthumb2:

Great job on the correction but the sad part of it is people are going to see your work and think that the body shop that painted it did a great job. The body shop painted it the monkey flattened it and you corrected it.

WOW! Fantastic job! I've never heard of a Lexus having paint warranty issues. I own an old 1997 ES300 and I know many people who drive Lexus and normally i'm pretty impressed with their paint quality.

Anyway, you did a great job!!

:props:

Absolutely amazing! I'd be interested to see how some microfiber pads on a DA would fare against something like this.

It wasn't exactly an issue with the paint, but more of that "Permanent protection" that dealerships sell. It came with a warranty and the car ended up getting acid rain all over it. So this owner had them repaint the whole car. lol

my first go to combination is always the surbuff pad and M105 on the FLEX or Griots 6in. I tried that first and it was just taking WAY to long and still left quite a few deeper marks. thats when I pulled out the Rotary w/ PFW and got to business. So I would say the DA and microfiber disc could eventually take it down. but I wasn't waiting around for it.

Eric, you did some fine work!! :props:

It's amazing how someone just grabs a rotary and has at it with little regard to its outcome. :nomore:

Gorgeous results!! :props:

Great save!!! It looks like a liquid pool of paint!!!:props:

Awesome before/afters...you do great work and definitely know how to work a camera!

Wow Eric, excellent turn around. You always have excellent write-ups, and the pictures in this one are great.

Did you get any before and after thickness measurements?

I wonder how much of the build the primate removed?

Nice turnaround. I had a friend who said his uncle had a rotary and could polish out his car for him :nomore:... He was adamant that his uncle knew how to use a rotary........ next minute.....:bolt:

It seems that people think a buffer is a buffer and no matter what you do with it you can shine up a car easily. '

At least you knew how to use your rotary and made the black beautiful again.

It now looks FANTASTIC!!!

WOW, WOW, WOW!! Awesome work!!!!

I'm assuming you used M205 with the tangerine pad, and M105 with the PFW and Cyan?

WHOA!!! the reflection pics are totally EPIC!

Totally amazing work! :dblthumb2:

not even a hint of orange peel anywhere!! Now thats a perfect paintjob complemented with a perfect detail!
