You MUST SEE THIS

I typically avoid conversations like this for a good reason, but this one I would like to comment on just a couple things.

The majority of the media and Hollywood (not that it matters here) are Democrats. If it makes them look bad you don't hear from them, but if it makes the Republicans look bad then that's all you hear.

The first spike in gas prices came shortly after Hurricane Katrina. Taking out the Gulf was not enough disruption to cause such spikes but was an excuse that could be used. People preached about price gouging so much that the president said he would look into it and the prices came down. Why hasn't this happened with the current administration? Until the oil/fuel costs are regulated our economy will have a very tough time recovering. The housing market was just a scapegoat. Suddenly you have people that drive a lot and refueling doubles, now people have to decide - do I pay this mortgage that I had previously budgeted for or do I fill my tank so that I can continue going to work? Poor money management? Absolutely.

Truth. We need a 100% clean sweep in Washington.

The fact that he side stepped the question? Not once did he say they would seek congressional approval, only foreign approval.

Richard, I really appreciate you stating your opinion and it was very well stated btw.

Exactly right! There were even a few times he started to say UN and then stopped and tried to say it a different way before finally saying UN again!

I typically avoid these threads as well, lol... Some people tie one aspect of a person (like his political views) into who he is. I don't wish for people to judge me thinking they know me based on the limited part of my opinion stated here. So much different than in person where there's give and take wide ranging conversation and understanding.

I can remember when gas was 25-cents and you had gas wars. Once got it for 19 cents. World came to an end when it went to 35 cents. V8's were king, 4-barrel carb's ruled. Dual exhaust, etc.

We had a saying back then. Old men start wars, young men die in them. ?

That's it Corey, it is just my opinion. Notice I don't favor one side or the other? It's just how I currently view things.

Gas prices were about $2 per gallon in 2000. Gas prices were climbing slightly when Katrina hit in 2005 (around $2.50) and eventually climbed to $4.28 (national average) in mid-2008. Prices fell sharply in part due to the economy tanking and now has a steady climb in 2010 to where it is now.

The problem is unless one party wins a super majority in the Senate and a majority in the House it will always be deadlocked as one side tries to block the other.

I, like others, do not get into type of post(s). But, you all have conducted yourselves like gentlemen! Congrats!

If I may, concerning the 'gas prices', learn how the 'commodity market' works. Don't just listen to talking heads on the tube, but search it out. It is a complicated situation that has changed over the past 10 years or so. So much so that, 'day traders' are making all the decisions.

My $.02.

Don't forget to add Viet Nam in the mix...does the term, Tonkin Gulf ring any bells?

I did see the clip, Cee Dog, and it is upsetting. The US does not need UN approval to protect itself.

There is no such thing as a 'politically correct' war. You can't kill people and destroy their property without 'offending' them.
