BosKo, you’re bringing back some distant memory. My first car
was a 1967 Impala that I used for something the Marines called
“swooping.”
On Fridays at 4:30PM we would all meet at one place on base
for those who needed a ride within 500 miles of the base I would announce
where I was heading, pick up four riders, and drop them off at a gas station off Exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike. They made their way home from there.
On Sunday, we would meet at 6PM sharp with no time to waste, and picked up the same four guys and off to NC arriving before 6AM for roll call. The charge was seven buck each way.
Sorry, went off a little. Now, my second car was my dream car.at that time. A new
1970-1/2 Z28 Camaro which I bought after I got out of the Marines.
