Excellent job and write up! I sure hope the owner notifies the dealer. I would be raising holy hell if it was mine after paying that much for a car. (I was pissed about a few minor scratches on my new Honda Civic and let them know it.)
Love it, Will. I would've never took delivery of that thing with it looking that way... He soule had the dealer pay for the correction!
Finest ftw!

Absolutely fantastic job! A great write up as well with superb documentation! That C7 deserved the job that your gave it!
Sick write up. That's how the customer should receive the car from the factory but what fun would that be lol

Awesome awesome work!
I always love seeing your work. Such great turn arounds.
Super good work there! Great write up as well. Love seeing the difference after a full correction! :xyxthumbs:
I still can't believe the condition the dealership left that C7 in.
Wow that's an awesome picture display, that thing was shockingly messed up considering its a newer car, great job

Why are they leaving the factory like that?

What's new, amazing works as usual. How is the paint (soft/hard). I have 2 cars coming up. Great job guys.
The damage on that car was way unacceptable. This forum really does something to your eye for paint.
I love the new vette and this thread just makes me love it even more! My god that machine was amazing when you finished with it and brought out what it's truly supposed to look like.

That paint was messed up! Imagine how many other cars that dealer sells to customers looking like thatGreat post and write-up. I am already looking forward to your next post!
Hi Wills...
Instead of going into "detail" of how big of a fan I am of Dani and yourself...
...not only for you guys' possession/knowledge of fantastic paint correction skills...
But also for being the good people that you are:
I want to take this occasion to wish you both. and your loved ones:

And continued success in the upcoming New Year, as well as those that follow.
Bob
You and Dani never cease to inspire. Congrats on a job well done!!
I will echo Bob in wishing you Merry Christmas and much continued success in the upcoming new year! Looking forward to seeing the next installment of "Detailer 911"
I have always been a chevy fan, but this says something about the quality of their workmanship. Don't get me wrong the stingray is a fabulous piece of their corvette line, but the fact that they failed to pay attention to detail and deliver a fabulous machine in such poor condition on the outside. I can say i have lost slight respect in the workmanship of chevy. If I was the owner I would write a personal letter to chevy expressing how disappointed I was in the condition my vehicle was delivered in. These cars haven't been out for a year, With that many defects I am speechless.
But congrats to you!
woah this was the dealership who hacked it. Its not good that someone who is detailing cant see what they did here. That dealership is very dangerous. It could have even been dry wiped and washed by the dealer. Chevy would have only touched up one area where if it was bumped or had some accident in their plant.
A couple of comments.
First. You both did a fabulous job of repairing the finish on a car that should have come perfect from the factory.
If I had been the purchaser of that car I would be in court. How many years worth of sun protecting clear coat were removed. First by the ones that created the original damage, and then by the correction needed to fix it?
Second. If the damage was "dealer installed" I hope that the buyer makes it a matter of wide public knowledge.
Five years ago I was asked to go to the dealer with a friend of mine to inspect his new car before signing the paperwork. I brought some MF towels, some QD and a small spray bottle of distilled water and alcohol.
I used the QD to gently remove the dust and water spots, then went over a small area on each panel to examine the paint finish. It was all pretty good (for a dealer molested car) except for the passenger door that had obviously been repainted, and badly at that. After seeing that he refused delivery on that particular car and had them order him another. They WERE PISSED! They even accused me of "changing the paint on the door"
