My very first car was in high school was a 1995 Camaro Z28. Hopefully one day I can own one of these beast. Towards the end the driver hits 158mph in the rain.

Nice to hear engine sounds instead of some overdubbed soundtrack.

What's the little target with the bouncing red dot in the lower right corner showing?

Sick! crazy going that fast in the rain...

Cool! Too bad it started raining towards the end of the run.

Sick. Very underrated car. Might've shaved off a few seconds at the end if there wasn't any rain.

Chevrolet said with the z06 prototype they broke the laps time of the zr1 on their test track at the first lap. can wait to see the zo6 c7 on the nür

Man that was an awesome ride along.

I think with offerings from Chevrolet like this car and the new Vette, they are going to beat the Germans at their own game...

Very impressive lap time but keep in mind the Z/28 has a dedicated track suspension and brakes. Sure it beats a stock 991 911 Carrera S or Corvette C6 ZR1, but those vehicles and most other vehicles have suspension compliant for regular road duty. Don't believe me, ride in a 991 911 and it'll ride nicer than many family sedans. Add a track suspension to those two vehicles and i'm sure it'll annihilate the Z/28.

For the price of a loaded 911 Carrera S I can get the Z28 and the C7, for that price it better annihlate both of them.

Not slamming you here but it never fails that when something like this comes up the comparison between the Corvette and 911 come into play, now its the Camaro, really? There's 2 different people whom buy the Corvette and the 911, a "Camaro buyer" isn't even in the picture between those 2 and now there's a $75K version that is faster than a regular, run of the mill 911. Like someone said earlier, its a special "track car" offered up by Chevrolet, suspension and brakes, not to mention tires too but guess what, how many will you actually see out and about, I say not too many. Those Z/28's are destine to be "Barrett-Jackson" specials, put in mothballs and brought out for sale in 20 years.

The person whom buys the 911 isn't looking for a "bargain" car, so its yet another reason to not compare the 911 and Camaro, the Corvette/911 is a stretch as it is, but a Camaro:nomore:

In closing here's what I don't get, the car is tuned at the Ring and the majority of them will never see a track day, mountain road, etc. All that work, time, effort and money into making it run the Ring at such a quick time and the ones that actually make it to the street will be going from stop light to stop light in most cases. I wish GM would invest in the future and come out with a perf hatchback type car or something smaller and affordable, oh well.
